First impression: entry to “resort” is amazing from the main road. If you are a golfer it is a good place to play. If you are looking for a nice place to getaway and unwind, and you’re use to a true resort, this is not it. Staff was friendly and you could tell they were trying to make the best of what they had to work with. Grounds were tidy, grass green. No pretty flowers around the “hotel” part or visible from guest room balcony. Pool looked nice, tennis courts looked nice. I didn’t visit the spa or indoor pool. It looks as though the owner may live out of state, or another country? Definitely does not feel like they want to put money into accommodations. You check in to the “hotel” part in the golf pro-shop. The pro-shop is under par (sorry) for the reviews the course receives. A coffee machine was available and a gas station hot dog machine was spinning hot dogs on a wheel. The “lobby” was cold and uninviting. The overnight accommodations were apartment looking buildings; dated beige color, with pull up to your door parking. Parking lot was clean. Once inside the room it was spacious with two queen beds, desk and straight back chair (chair was flimsy), dresser with black granite top and big newer tv, club chair and side table (club chair had wear). The view from the spacious balcony was nice, overlooking the pool grounds and woods with a slight view of the mountains. Balcony furniture was functional. Room decor and draperies were badly dated and repairs were needed. No pulley for drapes - had to open/close by hand. Bathroom was not good. Bed pillows were all medium to hard. Recommend adding soft pillows to mix on beds. Linens were fine, clean. It seems they make most of their money from golfing, as there was a steady flow of golf traffic and most of the comments on here are from people who visited to play. From a marketing standpoint, would definitely be better to work with the strengths of the resort and taunt it as a golf getaway in the mountains. A destination wedding facility or couples romantic escape is quite a stretch until the accommodations and amenities are updated and revamped for guests other than golfers. Rate was a bit high to me considering no breakfast option and condition of room. ($125 + taxes, fees + pet fee) I would not stay again nor recommend until a grand reopening is announced after remodel and offerings other than golf are revamped. Owners have a gem waiting to be polished. Rethink, reimagine, revise.
