The stay was ok. Upon checking in, the front desk clerk was very young and lacked experience. We had our reservation/conformation info but never asked to see it. Then was asked for my license and credit card (which is standard), however she ran the credit card for payment WITHOUT even telling the amount, nor was I given a receipt until I asked how much was charged and can I have a receipt, that's when I noticed an extra charge. She could not explain what the extra charge was for. She said she would talk to the manager. We were ok with that. The day we checked out I contacted my credit card to see if any other charges had been made, and sure enough there was, the owner told me it was just a hold and it should be reversed in 3 days. Ok, we understand that. When I asked the owner why the charge for the stay was a higher amount than my booked/confirmed reservation he stated "if you would have paid in cash you would not have been charged a credit card processing fee" an then proceeded to say its posted on the wall. Yes, on the wall it ONLY says processing fee, it DOES NOT say for credit cards. If we would have know that we would have paid cash. Nonetheless, some people may think what's the big deal over a few dollars, in this situation is more of the principle of not being forthright ESPECIALLY when your messing with other people's money. The room was ok, the bed was uncomfortable and pillows were terrible. The shower was hot and the room relatively clean. If back in this area again we will not choose to stay here.
