Hazelwood Lodge

Nice and cozy base while you're exploring the Burren region. Most attractions in the region are only about an hour drive away, so I can wholly recommend the location. The rooms were clean (even though overall nothing special), the bathroom pretty spacious for a B&B, parking is available in front of the house, and everyone was very welcoming. My highlight was the breakfast: continental style (so no "classic Irish breakfast") but French Press coffee and delicious fresh sweet treats.

We recently spent two nights in Hazelwood Lodge and, despite the inclement weather, thoroughly enjoyed our time. This gem of a guest house is located outside the village of Ballyvaughan. The road in is quite twisty and dangerous, not really suitable for walking although the proprietors provide high-viz vests for guests who want to. We stayed in the Garden Suite which was a very generous size with a comfortable seating area. Given the poor weather, we were delighted to return there each evening. Our bathroom, bedroom and sitting room were all spotlessly clean. We slept like logs thanks to the comfortable bed and complete quietness. Breakfast each morning was the highlight of the day, what a spread! There are no cooked-to-order dishes, it is a self-service buffet , but what a selection of beautifully cooked and presented hot and cold offerings! You will not be hungry. Our hosts were extremely friendly, helpful and professional throughout our stay, there if you needed them but not intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hazelwood Lodge. It is the perfect base from which to explore the Burren . I highly recommend it to others hoping to holiday in the area, you will not be disappointed if you stay here.

I had a lovely stay here -- in a beautiful part of the Burren. The B n B is so comfortable: quiet, excellent linens, great water pressure, spotlessly clean, and you wake up each morning to a delicious breakfast of great variety. Your hosts are warm and welcoming and give you your own space. I traveled solo and felt safe and "at home" when I arrived back each evening. And bonus: the path to a gorgeous 2 hour hike begins right next door. A highlight hike! All in all, a wonderful experience. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and sure hope to return one day. Hazelwood Lodge is more like a boutique hotel. The rooms are enormous and very comfortable. The owners are in a word, terrific and are a font of knowledge about The Burren. They could not be more hospitable. The breakfasts are justifiably famous! Don’t stay anywhere else.

We stayed there for two nights with our two year old daughter last week. Absolutely memorable experience! We loved our stay and the welcoming attitude of the hosts, Victor and his wife. Victor was so attentive, friendly and helpful. It felt like we were not at a hotel but visiting our relatives. The breakfast was so fresh and delicious. Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. The location was perfect to visit Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher which we could fit in one day and still got to relax for lunch and dinner. If I go back to Burren area, I would totally stay here again! Thank you to our lovely hosts for creating such amazing experience.

What a great location to spent a few nights. We enjoyed our wonderful rooms at the bottom floor which are very spacious and comfortable. Beds are very large and very good. Very good bathroom (en suite)! Victor and his wife are great hosts and pride themselves in giving you the home away from home feeling and service. Breakfast is a big pleasure and gives you the best the region supplies. All local grown and freshly cooked to order. We really enjoyed our nights we stayed there and would definitely stay there again!
