Gallery Suite

A very well situated room with easy train links to Rome and local shops and restaurants. Excellent stop over for cruise ship travel also. Accommodation was modern and well equipped. It’s on a main road, so could potentially be problematic to those light sleepers. Not an issue for us. The rooms are double glazed, so I’d say the street noise would be minimal. There’s also electric blinds outside of the doors which black out the room perfectly. Melina, our host, was exceptional. Very welcoming and would help with all our needs. Booking taxi/transfers was a breeze. Breakfast was the usual continental offerings of pastries, jams, cereals, cheeses, hams, fruit and yoghurts. We really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly stay again if we were catching another cruise ship from Civitavecchia.

We (my husband and I and my brother and his wife) stayed at this bed and breakfast for one night pre-cruise at the end of April. I will say this from the start—I was a bit apprehensive after I had booked the rooms and then searched Google maps because of the area, but the reviews were so positive. I needn’t have been worried. The suites are very safe and secure, and the area felt safe as well. The rooms were immaculately clean and fresh. Each of ours had a quaint balcony, and my husband spent a lot of time out there just people watching. There are four rooms, and all were occupied by those going on the same cruise. Milena (our host…the owner?) had been in touch with me leading up to our stay and kindly arranged a taxi to the port for the following morning (only ten minutes, or so, but the streets were not conducive to rolling suitcases). She also ensured we had no intolerances for breakfast. Breakfast was perfect—hard-boiled eggs, pastries, fruit, yogurt, and delicious coffee and juices. The young woman helping us at breakfast was very pleasant and tried to help print our two of our luggage tags—very accommodating. Across the street there was a pizza place (Kebab Pizza?) where we ate an early dinner/late lunch when we arrived. It was yummy! Also, we had some gelato from another place across the street, which was delicious. Really a gem, and I’m so glad we stayed here.

We needed a place to stay because we were going on a cruise the next day. After quite a bit of research I booked Gallery Suites. Nice place Layla was very nice. Check in was a breeze we were picked up at the airport by a driver she recommended, he didn’t speak English but used his phone to translate. Our room was ready before the official check in time we really appreciated that our bodies were tired from the overnight flight. The breakfast room was cute we had a light breakfast before checking out and Leyla arranged a taxi to the port that was about 10 minutes away. I would stay here again if visited the area.

Comfy bed and pillows. Room is clean and bright and equipped with everything. We had the balcony, which can be a bit noisy, if you leave the door open. Easy walking to the water the front. Breakfast is basic, with an assortment of baked goods, yogurt, meat, cheese and bread and assorted juices and fruit. It is an excellent value. Lots of small neighborhood restaurants on the street, larger restaurants closer to the water. Highly recommend if you are meeting a ship.

My wife and I stayed at Gallery Suite for a couple of days before our cruise and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the property is clean and modern and safe, also location is great, walking distance to local sights and restaurants. Breakfast was delicious. Our hosts Milena and Layla went out of their way to be helpful with directions and booking transfers from FCO and to the port. The whole experience was fabulous and would highly recommend this place.

This is our 2nd time staying @ Gallery Suites and was certainly another great stay. We visited back in November 2022, and said we could come back, this time for 2 nights end of September. The Guest House is located in an apartment building, centrally located to the Old District (15mins walk), rooms are clean & comfortable, with a TV and standard bathroom. The shower area needs a little cleaning detail, mold is shown all the way around, just some bleach can easily take care of the matter, they clean the room daily. A nice continental breakfast is waiting for you each morning with smiling faces, the owner & helper can arrange transfers and tours if needed. If you're taking a cruise from this port city, and been to Rome a couple of times, give Civitavecchia a try along with Gallery Suites, it's a wonderful area for one or two days. We hope be back in 2024!
