Everything about this hotel was great. It’s newly made- and the design is beautiful with big glass windows everywhere. Their hot tubs and sauna are also incredible and these overlook a lake and a glacier. We could see all this from our room and even the northern lights. Add to the facilities- the exceptional service. (All but one server at their restaurant was incredibly kind) All but one staff went out of their way to help and accommodate all our needs. And finally their breakfast- I have no words. And I don’t say this easily. I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels. And most have just the same spread. This one was truly exceptional. We ended up spending way longer than we planned and got delayed because we couldn’t stop eating. Don’t think twice- go for this hotel. You’ll not regret it. This is not a criticism- just an advice for the hotel to add maybe some more vegetarian options to the menu- or if they’re not available to accommodate guests with a kids menu- or some bread starters. I still rate the hotel 5/5 but one server was quite unhelpful with providing us more options. And this was a slight hitch in a more than perfect experience. And the person at the reception totally helped us out and accommodated us after!

因為約了第二天去看冰洞，發現這裏離集合地點才46公里，雖然是要走回頭路，因為價格算是性價比最高的了，於是就訂下來了。 晚上10點才到冰河湖，拍照後到酒店已經11點半，發現酒店後面就是一個大冰川，從房間的窗户就完全可以看到躺在床上還發現屋頂上有一個天窗，躺在床上就能看星空和極光！ 空間確實有點小（冰島酒店的普遍現象！），但是麻雀雖小 五臟俱全，我們在房間做了晚餐。浴室裏有地暖，很不錯👍

1.) This is NOT a 3 star hotel. The accommodations are very meager. 2.) The staff did NOT warn us about the Sandflies in the area upon check in. By midnight, our room was infested with these bugs that bite and itch. We had to leave in the middle of the night to make our return to Reykjavik to escape this situation. 3.) There was a bunch of horse dung outside our window as well that was disgusting and likely exasperated the sand fly problem. I emailed the owners and never heard a response.

Very nice hostel. I highly recommend this to everyone who needs a place to sleep when traveling in this part. We stayed in a 5 person room, my partner and kid, plus two friends (adults) and we all enjoyed our stay. The only thing we did not enjoy was the squeaky metal beds, I thought my upstair partner kept going in and out of the bed..she just turned around! So bring your ear plugs, but everything was clean, we had our own bathroom, but the shared ones was also nice. Big kitchen and eating area (we did not use it though, arrived late and left early). But I would absolutely go back here in the future.

Pros: - breakfast spread was good overall and includes a coffee machine for custom brews - good experience checking in, reception staff offered great recommendation for dinner (Hotel Hofn) - loft arrangement with two double beds was well designed for limited space - very clean and upkept room, chocolates on towels a nice touch - though room only had one bathroom, one in the eating area is available for use and was very clean also Cons: - lots of steps and tight fit up stairs to loft area (best suited for kids and those without mobility issues) - during busy breakfast time, refill rate for some items such as croissants is slow - property/rooms on the smaller side, no amenities like hot tub, etc. Summary: A niche and neat property conversion of an old milk factory. We enjoyed our stay and everything was pleasant overall with very good use of limited space. Would recommend as an option as the loft is more affordable than two separate rooms, thus presents an excellent value proposition. Very accurate to average rating on the site so far. Es una muy buena eleccion. Aunque es un baño compartido, no supone ningún inconveniente. Cuando lo reservé, no traje el desayuno, pero en realidad me lo proporcionaron. Aunque el hotel no es grande, se siente muy cálido, solo en la ciudad. Todos los aspectos son muy convenientes.

Hepburn realmente tuvo que preparar el hotel temprano, porque era demasiado tarde, así que viví en dos lugares con mis amigos. Pensé que esto barato sería muy malo. El resultado fue mucho mejor de lo que pensaba. Aunque era un baño público, el pequeño apartamento se sentía ordenado. El equipo de cocina está disponible. Es una buena opción para pernoctaciones. Los vecinos son de gran calidad. Los utensilios usados están limpios y en silencio. Son mucho más silenciosos que los demás. Es mucho mejor que otro hotel con más de 2.000.

The Old Airline Guesthouse is an extremely nice guesthouse at a great value. It is situated strategically between two of Iceland most majestic sites, the Vatnajökull Glacier/Iceberg Lagoon and Hvalnes Nature Reserve. The Old Airline Guesthouse owner and host Sigga was absolutely wonderful. My wife and I had a small but awesome room with a view overlooking the Hofn bay area. Patrons can also enjoy a similar view in the upstairs common area. Local shops and restaurants are within walking distance. A continental breakfast is included in your stay. Being a guesthouse you do share a bathroom, other than that the Old Airline Guesthouse is truly a gem worth staying.
