Creo que la habitación era cómoda y con el espacio suficiente , pero anticuada en apariencia, y con errores de diseño, necesario reparar conexión de calentador de toallas estaba pelado, necesario hacer una apertura en el cuarto de baño para evitar condensación, necesario cambiar tetera vieja y poco higiénica, necesario una mejor iluminación y un mejor diseño de la habitación en general, pero correcta por el precio pagado en general.

£200 for a basic room for one night was a bit on the pricey side for me, however it was nice all the same. A few of the photos of the basic room are misleading. The photos show a four post double bed which is not the case. We found out later this is actually an executive room despite it being labeled basic. We found out that the hotel location is accessible by bus from Oxenholme train station (despite being told the opposite) and has a great view of beautiful fields. Food in the hotel is good but expensive... My eyes nearly popped out their sockets when I saw the £8.00 charge just for the tiniest amount of table bread. I'd say this was probably the reason the restaurant was empty despite being told we need to book a table due to its popularity. Swimming pool and steam room are average for the price. Staff are friendly and changed our room to a double bed room free of charge after mistakenly putting us in a twin bedroom.

We visited on the Saturday evening and had a lovely meal, man behind the bar very welcoming. They check on how the meal was and we were very impressed so said we would return on the Sunday for a roast dinner. Not so welcoming on the Sunday different staff behind the bar, ordered 2 roast beef dinners and it was shocking. The worst Yorkhire pudding ever burnt to a crisp. They never came to check on how the food was. The beef was so tough like it had been reheated on a grill. Overall it was the worst Sunday roast I think I ever had. Such a difference in the Food and service from one day to the next. We left very disappointed and still hungry as it was not edible.

El hotel está justo en la carretera principal de Kendal, pero está muy tranquilo, y tenemos una habitación en la frente. Había una muy buena bienvenida en la recepción. Como era una ocasión especial, habíamos reservado la suite junior en el segundo piso. La habitación estaba muy cerca, la habitación estaba limpia y a la vez amarga con todas las comodidades habituales. El baño tenía un baño y una ducha grande y era muy limpio. Había un agradable toque ambiental de los bares de lavabo de jabón y cuerpo en los pequeños sacos, y se produjo localmente. El desayuno se cocinaba para ordenar, bien presentado y muy sabroso. The Lodge, Carrus Green Golf Club, Burneside Road, Kendal, Cumbria The lodge sits next to an 18-hole golf course. Guest rooms are well-appointed with an en-suite bathroom and are cosy and comfortable. They are not big but adequate and they have good views over the rolling countryside. Guests can use the lounge bar and restaurant at the golf cub and the free wi-fi works. Reviews for location - around eight miles by car from Windemere with lots of walks and cycle routes in the area - and cleanliness are good and the lodge also has a high ranking for value for money. The bed was comfy and the lodge was really warm, thankfully, as the temperature outside was Baltic. It is only a short walk over the car park to the modern golf club where meals are available. We opted out of dinner but the menu looked good and went for breakfast. It was a feast. Two eggs, two sausages and bacon, two hash browns, mushrooms and beans, a real ,plateful. Tea was extra but we were so full we did not eat again until dinner. We felt at home here. Sadly, the weather gods did not shine on us, horizontal rain and high winds for most of our stay, but this accommodation is well-worth looking at. We walked into Kendal via path and that took around 40 minutes. Thankfully, the rain relented on the way back, and Kendal is worth a visit. It has big name brand shops as well as local stores and a market and the golf course at Carrus Green looked inviting. Guests, we understand, receive a reduction in the green fee and there is a river nearby with permits available from the local pub, The Jolly Anglers, LA9 6QS

Once again ( for the Nth time ) we held our annual dinner for the Lancaster Canal tripboat crew ( for our boat Waterwitch) My wife and I stayed overnight with other friends and colleagues. The 3 course dinner was excellent with great choices for each course. As ever , the friendly and efficient service was brilliant with 18 meals served quickly and accurately, including the special requests. We have used this hotel frequently for entertainment evenings like the above , and also for corporate training days . Since the current owners took over the standards have gone to new heights , the food is excellent ( and I worked in the hotel trade as a chef in my younger days so I am speaking with authority on the subject) Excellent work Rob , we will be back operating trips ( just across the road) on the canal with Waterwitch next Spring, and we look forward to enjoying your hospitality in 2025 Ian Treanor Boat Manager Lancaster Canal Trust
