The Kings Arms Hotel

We enjoyed our stay, and found the rooms well appointed, service very good and general ambiance excellent. Pros - good sized rooms, we had king room - service very good, staff very happy to help (and post back forgotten items!) - bar and lounge area is lovely - location to walk around Christchurch is perfect - ability to use pool and spa facilities of sister hotel 5 mins drive away Cons - bathroom a little dated - cleanliness not perfect, felt like a deep clean was needed (maintenance cleans only go so far for so long)

We got married at the Kings Arms in July this year with Chamane as our planner. We really could not have asked for a better or more wonderfully organised day. The team were incredible, it was so easy to show up and enjoy ourselves, they did everything for us and we are so grateful for all our wonderful memories. We planned our wedding here from overseas, and booked it before even seeing the venue in real life. The team helped us with a virtual tour and took so much off our plate, they are truly experts at weddings. The venue itself - wow. Amazing places for pictures, beautiful hotel rooms and the scenery around where it is located is stunning. Thank you to Chamane and all your colleagues at the Kings Arms!

Popped in for lunch on my birthday. Lovely friendly service and delicious food. I’d throughly reccomended a visit. hope to visit again soon! I had a goats cheese salad to start which what’s fab, followed by a bream main. The mash with that was gorgeous too. All very yummy. My husband had a beef dish for main which was amazingly tender. No room for desert after those but the waitress presented me with a lovely ‘happy birthday’ plate, which was really appreciated. A really nice touch.

Beautifully decorated, clean hotel in a fab location. Monday market in the town. A lovely short waterside walk to the quay. Great staff all round and will definitely return. Wish we had stayed longer to check out one of the local restaurants.

We had our wedding here on the 27th July. The kings arms was the perfect setting and an amazing visual experience. Everything was just how we wanted it to be and all the credit must go the staff. This is mainly due to Charmaine and Dean. They went above and beyond. They are the most helpful, friendly, kind, considerate, and the best problem solvers. The Kings arms are incredibly fortunate to have them. If you are looking for a wedding venue or even just a spot of lunch, this is a must… Wedding guests were already planning to come back in the future!

We had the best time at the Kings for our Cocktail Masterclass. Booked this for a hen party for 11 of us and it was brilliant. The bar area works perfectly for this event and Scott, the bar manager, absolutely made our experience! He couldn’t have made it any better and the cocktails were delicious, as was the food. We got married at the Kings Arms two weeks ago. It was AMAZING! Some of our family and friends stayed the whole weekend, the hotel itself is so fantastic, the rooms were spotless, the hospitality second to none, the food outstanding, and every team member went out of their way to make our special day as memorable and as perfect as possible. Massive shout out to Chamane who was our rock from the day we booked until the day itself (thank you for letting me squeeze your hand for the nervous part before I walked over to the pavilion!). Everything we asked of you, you delivered with a smile which made everything less stressful. Dean and Jan were also incredible, they looked after us so well, we couldn't have done it without their support and "can do" attitude. Charlotte was a godsend at breakfast on the Sunday, looking after the wedding party so well. We cannot thank you all enough for everything you did for us as the new Mr & Mrs Lowe.

We stayed at the Kings Arms over the late May bank holiday. We were attending a wedding in Parley Manor and due to my disorganised nature, I booked the accommodation about a week before the wedding. There was only one room left and it was one of the attic rooms. I was fine with this as the hotel looked stunning and it was where we wanted to be. From the moment we arrived (a few hours before check in time) the staff were second to none. Our room was ready so we were allowed to go straight up. Yes the room was small but it was perfectly formed. It was very quirky which we loved. The room and the bathroom were very clean and tastefully done. There was a lovely selection of teas (and biscuits) in the room. My only suggestion would be for the mirror to moved. It’s currently inside the wardrobe on the door. It wasn’t practical for a number of reasons, firstly the door didn’t stay fully open, it was dark in that part of the room and due to the size of the room, it blocked off half of the room. Generally I wouldn’t spend much time looking in the mirror but I was getting ready for a wedding. Ideally there needs to be another socket located near the main wall as it was difficult to iron our wedding clothes as the socket was inside the wardrobe so there wasn’t much room to manoeuvre the board into position. On the Saturday night we went out for dinner as we’d arranged to meet friends but once we got back, we headed to the bar. There was a lovely atmosphere in there and we loved sitting at the bar for a laid back drink. The cocktails were delicious and again the staff were super friendly and attentive. We were due to check out on the Monday but loved it so much that we wanted to stay for one more night. On check out we spoke to the front desk and though our room had been booked, we were offered another room for a really good price. The room turned out to be an enormous and stunning Queen room. We couldn’t believe how beautiful it was when we went into it. That evening we ate at the hotel restaurant. The food was delicious, I had the cheese soufflé to start (the best I’ve had) and the fish and chips for my main, again it was fantastic. There was a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and we had a lovely view of the beautiful green across the road. The breakfast offering was vast and delicious. There is a choice of continental or freshly cooked which set us up nicely for the day of the wedding. The hotel is a very popular location for Weddings, and weddings took place everyday we were there. It was so lovely to see the brides come down from their suites all dressed up and looking gorgeous as they headed over to the pavilion on the green to get married. We didn’t get to see the neighbouring building where the reception takes place but we were told it’s stunning! We had our wedding here and it was the best day of our lives! All of the staff were so kind and helpful and made it the best day for us. We had the BBQ option for our wedding breakfast and it was fantastic. We also stayed the night and our room was lovely. Would definitely recommend as a wedding venue!
