Poggio Piglia

From the surprise turn in the road, up tree lined drive and into this stylish small hotel, we were delighted in every aspect. Contemporary in decor and fit-out, with excellent facilities such as well designed and appointed large bathroom, beautiful relaxing garden and pool, looking over sublime Tuscan landscape, fabulous terrace restaurant. But special indeed was the hospitality and generosity of spirit of Sergio, Roberta and Maria, along with all the tireless staff. It took Sergio one second to not only help us communicate with our car rental company, on unexpected battery death, but to unflinchingly offer to,and drive us 1 hour to Perugia to collect another car… above and beyond!!

This was our third time at this lovely hotel, personal and comfortable. More like a home away from home. Driving through the countryside, you drive up a hill to this magnificent 150 yr old estate with an outstanding Italian restaurant. The highlight of this stay was cooking with the chef in his tiny kitchen and making an outstanding ricotta and spinach ravioli! We also made a ragu and a chicken liver pate, his style.....when I booked our stay, I asked about cooking with the chef to perfect my ravioli with some keen tips. He did not disappoint. I loved the class which was with another delightful couple, but the highlight was the translation that the general manager gave us. So much fun with all of them and what I prepared was served for dinner in the evening with my husband. This was so special. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay at your hotel.

Poggio Piglia ist eine wirklich empfehlenswerte Unterkunft. Sehr freundliches und bemühtes Personal, schöne und saubere Zimmer mit super Komfort (Klimaanlage, schönes großes Bad), tolles Frühstücksbuffet (gute Auswahl, Fokus auf lokale Produkte, Kombi aus Buffet und a la carte), und einer wunderschön gepflegten Anlage. Der Pool hat eine unglaubliche Aussicht, es gibt ausreichend Liegen zur Verfügung und die Anlage ist einfach sehr gepflegt (sauber, mit vielen Pflanzen). Auch das Restaurant am Abend ist einen Besuch wert, wir haben sehr gut gegessen und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist stimmig. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!
