Charlesworth lodges are the ultimate get away from it all break. We’ve had the loveliest time, not only celebrating my 50th birthday but also our engagement. It’s so quiet and peaceful here, with the lodge being super comfy but with all the equipment we could have asked for for a super self catering break. The surroundings are so peaceful, and it’s a short drive into Glossop and it’s a quick train ride into Manchester if you’re missing the city, or go into the Peaks if you’re after a nature fix. The hosts are very responsive and helpful if you need anything and nearby charlesworth and Glossop have everything you might need supplies wise. We’ve loved our time here and we will be back in the future at Coombes View 2 to celebrate our engagement anniversary. Hot tubs, hills and alpacas, we couldn’t have asked for anything more…

Myself and partner stayed in the Old Barn cottage last week and had a lovely stay! The facilities were great. Throughly enjoyed the spa bath and hot tub. Unfortunately, we were only able to use the hot tub a couple times due to the rain. I've stayed in accommodations before where there has been a gazebo or covering over the hot tub which makes for a total game changer and feel like this would enhance the customers stay here greatly. Also, the cover of the hot tub unfortunately when up blocks the gorgeous views of the fields. The cottage was clean and tidy with large rooms and lovely furnishings/ decor. We had a problem working the oven, a little operational sign next to the cooker would have been great. When trying to work the thermostat an error message appeared, the cottage was chilly but we managed to wrap up. In the winter this could be an issue. The bed was huge and so comfy. Kitchen was well equipt, WiFi was great, unfortunately no phone signal. Theres plenty of things to do in the surrounding area, we went to Chester Zoo, went on a local walk 7 falls which was amazing, walked to the local pub and went into Glossop and had a lovely meal. Overall, the stay was lovely and great for a couple/ romantic retreat.

with this holiday park . First off they don't tell you it's directly on MNC airport flight path so expect planes every 20 mins day and night loud and low or putting their thrusters on . Then there is track to the lodges, it is a dirt track with a ridge so high it almost took my exhaust off. It single track with blind corner and no passing places . So if something is coming your reversing all the way back. Secondly the lodge .. nice and clean when we get there . The most concerning thing is the hot water , there is no temperature control and it's very hot and a scald risk . Also the shower , either boiling or freezing and if someone else On the park is showering then yours goes off ! Also the radiators have no controls so my partner burned their leg while using the loo as radiator was so hot . Then we discover that both bedroom floors creak as soon as you walk on them , meaning everyone was woken through the night when someone went to the loo. Also signs saying empty the bins or you get charged , remove a book from 2019 and you get charged , create excessive ??? Cleaning and you get charged ! Felt like a money trap !Finally the hot tub .. set behind a wall and views of the other lodges. Not once did anyone come to check them and half the jets were not working . I would not recommend this place to anyone and I am reporting them to the HSE about water .

We stayed in Amour 1 recently. Booking, information and arrival was very smooth. On arrival the lodge was clean and welcoming. Very impressed. The only issues we had was the T.V in the bedroom did not seem to work, nor was there a remote control. The bed seemed to creak and move when getting in. Looks like it is on its way out and owners have tried to fix. Made it very uncomfortable to sleep in. The hot tub was ok, it was to temperature and the jets worked but was not very strong. Nowhere near as strong as any hot tub I have ever been in. Not sure if just an older model or if this needs a good service or just updating. Other than these 3 small issues, we had a great time.

We stayed in 1 of the lodges, a family of 4, 2 children under 10. The lodge was well equipped, clean, and comfortable. The hot tub, although we were expecting to take time for it to heat, it was already warm for our arrival, which was a bonus. The site was quiet and peaceful, just what we needed! And the surrounding field having a pony and alpacas was a hit with the children, and they enjoyed walking to the field to say hello. there were also some really lovely trees, the one near our hot tub is included in the photos. The only contact with the owners was prior to check-in, where they were friendly and responsive. We had no need for any other contact as the accommodation was great. The driveway entrance is very narrow, and you have to drive very slowly, but we never met another car on the road, and we went out daily during our stay. If you met another car, you would need to reverse. We will definitely be back!

Great location to visit and walk the High Peak. Located in a secluded place with just 7 other lodges, well interspaced without any intrusion in terms of noise or views backing onto woodland with only the birds as company. A high calibre lodge with everything needed in terms of comfort. They've gone to some trouble to be different and achieved it. Highly recommended and great value

Lovely location in the middle of nowhere, a real escape. The lodge was smaller than previous lodges I've been in but still ample. Beds was comfy and the lodge was nice and warm. The hot tub was lovely with great views. Downsides, no welcome pack, essentials such as salt, pepper, vinegar, sugar, tea, coffee, cooking oil. Not even a bottle of milk was disappointing. There's a smart tv with Netflix etc but internet is so poor we couldn't access anything other than normal tv. No internet of phone signal. Handles are very creaky. Couldn't get shower hot until I realised later that the switch in the store cupboard needs to be on. Couldn't figure out which hob was which and took ages to reach temp and cool down, to turn the oven off the only way I could was switching off at the wall. No visitor book which i like to read for ideas for days out and good places to eat. Had a lovely meal at the george and dragon pub and breakfast in the cafe opposite the pub.

We visited Charlesworth lodges for a short break and it exceeded our expectations A beautiful location. The lodges are located on a private site, tucked away from main roads and noise. It is incredibly peaceful and quiet and just the place if you are looking for a "get away from it all" break. We stayed in Coombe View 2 - a really spacious lodge with comfortable furnishings and a fantastic hot tub .... this was cleaned daily and was just the thing after a long day of visiting the local area We cannot fault this beautiful site - so well maintained and clean. Local sheep wander through the site which is lovely Be aware that the site is accessed via a single track lane with lots of loose stones - this should be driven with care and at a low speed We shall definitely return

We stayed in the Old Barn Cottage and it was amazing. We were very surprised at the size of the cottage as it only accommodates two people. The kitchen and dining area were lovely, lots of space and all the facilities that were needed. The living room was very cosy and the sofa was so comfy! The bathroom spaces were very good too, with two toilets, a spa bath and a double shower. The bedroom was lovely with a huge bed that was so comfortable we didn't want to leave it! The outside area was spacious and the hot tub was in a great spot as it was very private, however we only got to use the it once as it was very windy and rainy. There is also lots of space to park your car and even a little grass area which will be lovely in the summer time. The only thing I would say is that if the TVs were quite old so the only thing available was normal TV. We also found that the doors were quite hard to lock and unlock, due to them being quite old. The phone service is not great due to the area but the Wifi worked very well throughout our stay. The cottage overall was spotless and was very quiet and peaceful. It is in a lovely spot and you only have to drive a few minutes to the nearest pubs and places to go for walks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. I would recommend staying the Old Barn Cottage for a more private stay.
