The White Horse Inn

From the minute we arrived we were well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. The room we stayed in ‘Mill Reef’, named after a famous racehorse was beautiful and extremely clean and comfortable. The shower was excellent and the bed to die for, very comfortable with beautiful bed linen and feather pillows. In the room was a selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolate, still and fizzy water and biscuits. Also provided a good size fridge with fresh milk for hot drinks and decent sized glasses. We were attending a wedding and other guests in our party were due to arrive on the morning of the wedding. The staff kept us informed on progress with their rooms being ready and by the time they arrived at 12:00, both their rooms were ready to check in to which was greatly appreciated. The breakfast menu was fabulous with a wide choice of dishes to suit everyone. All of the food was cooked fresh to order, was delicious and we were served quickly by the very friendly staff who were happy to give us directions to the wedding venue so we didn’t have to use the single track road. We had a wonderful two night stay and would love to return for another stay soon. Thank you.

We booked all of the rooms for our wedding party for the evening before and after our wedding at Bignor Park. All of the rooms were lovely, the breakfast was excellent and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and got all the little details right! : )

Beautiful place to spend the night and have dinner to celebrate a birthday. Room was lovely, food was really fantastic and the service was amazing, despite the pub being packed with a village event. Thank you to the manager who looked after us with so much care and attention. Wish we could have stayed longer.

I stayed at the White Horse Inn for one night while walking the South Downs Way in March 2024. It was well worth the 2-mile detour - charming, tasteful rooms, good food, and excellent service. I particularly enjoyed sipping a tasty local ale in front of the open fire. Even though the restaurant was fully booked because of an event that night, staff went out of their way to make sure I got served dinner. Highly recommended!

The White Horse Inn is about 5 miles off the SDW but we wanted to treat ourselves after a day in the saddle . The room we stayed in had a huge bath ( perfect for sore muscles) and the food at both dinner and breakfast was delicious . The owner and staff were very attentive and encouraged us to stored our electric bikes up on a terrace so they felt secure .

We went as a family of 12 plus an infant to the White Horse Inn in Sutton West Sussex for a Birthday Celebration . The pre arrival communication was helpful and informative. On arrival we were greeted with a warm, relaxed hospitality from Billy and his team. We had taken 6 of the 8 bedrooms on offer and all were beautifully decorated, comfortable, spacious, warm and quiet. All the meals we had were perfectly presented. The menu offers variety and something for everyone from the vegan in our group to the carnivores and the pescatarians! All the food was delicious and served Freshly prepared from the kitchen. Well done chef!! Breakfast was utterly delicious too. Full English, eggs any which way with smoked salmon or bacon. Granola, yoghurt, fruit compote....the sour dough bread and corn bread too moreish by half. Lots of coffee, endless tea and juice. The staff match the quality of this establishment and actually are a massive bonus. We felt at home immediately and we were treated to the personal touch which made us all feel like we were amongst friends. We will be visiting again because there are loads of wonderful things to do in this hidden area of southern England. Thank you for giving us a wonderful time.
