A total of three nights stay over two visits:- Two nights stay in the Premier Inn Hotel Chesterfield town centre - all I can currently hear is the thud, thud, thud of music that is being played in the reception and restaurant areas. The type of music and the volume seems to depend on the members of staff who are on shift, it can be an annoying background noise that disrupts everything you do, including trying to get a good night's sleep or it can at times be likened to being next door to a noisy pub or night club. It goes on until all hours with no consideration given to the people who have paid to relax, rest and sleep. Placing your head on a pillow to go to sleep amplifies the noise! I have previously spoken to both management and Premier Inn customer services about the volume of music played in the reception and restaurant areas. A member of the management team confirmed music can be heard from a number of rooms when it is played too loud - having experienced the noise first hand when they stayed at the hotel as a guest "It sounds like you're in a night club in some of the rooms." It's now 11:58pm and the music is getting louder distinct thuds from the bass. Premier Inn customer services have previously stated music should be turned off at midnight, yet here we are after 1.00am with the music still pumping! Avoid room 148 as this room backs directly onto the restaurant area, as well as the music you will enjoy people moving around loudly (due to poor sound proofing) and dining room furniture being dragged across the floor rather than being lifted and carried! If you manage to avoid the night club don't worry also available are rooms where you feel like you are sleeping at the road side due to the loud traffic noise or a little more tranquil is the room with the shower above that sounds like you're directly below Niagara Falls...or we also have the room located next to the heating system, if you are a guest in this room when it goes wrong you will know about it because you will be kept awake with clangs, thuds and humming; maintenance staff lifting ceiling tiles in the corridors to access pipes. It's 10:50 am on the day of departure and the music is louder than ever, it fills the room, and it can be heard above the television - a bit early to be at the club! How can anyone enjoy time in this room with this racket?! Back at Premier Inn Chesterfield town centre as a last resort (Matlock Premier Inn was fully booked) and only for the one night. When I first arrived my room was ice cold, I had to ring reception to get them to turn up the air conditioning so I could have warmth; I was shivering. it took over two hours for the room to heat up. It was so cold I got under the duvet with my clothes on! I have been put in room 101 that is right next door to rooms that are used by staff - kept awake by doors banging - staff in and out. Went to reception at 2.30am to ask to be moved as I have a long journey today. I was told "The hotel is full, we can

Brilliant hotel with amazing staff. Everything within walking distance. It’s a very central hotel with lots to offer and with it being basically in the centre of England, as well as near the peak district, nothing is too far. Plenty of places to eat in town and many bars/clubs to hang out in.

We normally stay at the Hilton in Sheffield, but in the interests of being able to visit family more frequently we opted for a cheaper option to see how we got on. Even with a 16 month old, we managed a great stay with decent sleep. The service was exceptional and everything was clean, comfortable and good quality. We were particularly surprised by the quality of the food. We had sirloin steak int he evening, and the full breakfast in the morning. It was all great, good value, and plenty of choices for the baby bear. We’ll definitely stay again.

The Premier Inn is a clean, affordable and very convenient option right next to city center. Staff is readily available and will take care of issues quickly. Check-in is easy and fast, check-out time is generously late, allowing for a relaxed morning when leaving. There's plenty of food options in the restaurant and a good breakfast buffet.

I booked in this hotel for 2 nights while catching up with family. Its my fourth visit and I always have a great stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless as always . Great location in the town centre. Plenty to do . I had breakfast both days and it was buffet style . Hot and plenty to choose from and all you can eat for £10.99 ! The bar was always fully stocked . I had a bite to eat in the restaurant on my first evening and was waited on straight away . The service was very good. I would highly recommend this hotel .
