The Chester Court Hotel

My partner and I booked here as a relatively last minute weekend break in Chester as my passport didn't arrive in time for a short break in the sun! On arrival we were eventually met (We had to phone a number as he was over the car park at the other guest house) by a fella who explained everything and told us about local area, bars ,restaurants, public transport etc. He showed us to our room (17) Which was in the courtyard . A lovely refurbished room with all the amenities we require for a short stay! The breakfast was more than adequate to set you up for a day sightseeing or walking the walls of Chester! A nice touch was the freshly cooked eggs (Fried/Scrambled) Which the friendly Spanish ladies bring to your table. The one criticism had was breakfast can get busy and there's not adequate tables/seating if guests converge on the dining room at The same time! This happened on our second morning and one of the ladies directed us to sit with another couple on a table for 4. You could sense they didn't want us sitting there so we opted to wait in the lounge area until a table became vacant. Needless to say our third and final morning we had no such issue! Overall a lovely quirky place to stay. And if we come back to Chester I'd seriously consider booking directly with the hotel using my discount as per the email I received on my return home.

Very disappointed with our last minute choice. Very small room and a shower with practically no water pressure. Chocolate wrappers in drawer from previous guests as well as crisp crumbs on floor. Breakfast was like a scene from faulty towers. We were shown to the last remaining table in the breakfast room, whilst we were getting coffee another room were told to join us at our table. Poorly cooked breakfast with practically inedible scrambled eggs. It felt like we were in a hostel rather than a hotel. We booked for two nights, but checked out after one. Having ran a guest house in the Lake District for 8 years to a very high standard, we feel this establishment is well below par and we do not recommend staying here.

This review is long overdue… as I’ve stayed at Chester Court on regular occasions through the year, during the past several years now. It’s my absolute favourite place to stay whenever I visit Chester and travel to see my family here. This also included the occasion of my son’s wedding, with other family members also booked to stay here. Chester Court Hotel is most memorable for exceptional stays and luxuriously styled accomodation… second to none in my experience. Well situated and in very convenient location . Most exceptionally comfortable, high standard of accomodation has meant that I always experience a completely enjoyable stay. One especially stand-out aspect for me is the array of different accomodation styles on offer within this one hospitality property. The rooms range from smaller, to more spacious and even self-contained small apartment style. Some accomodation even has its own outside, private terrace area. The facilities are excellent, including en suite bathroom areas… some with shower, some with bath, some with jacuzzi and some with shower and bath. There are fridge facilities. Beverage facilities provided, of course. T.V. provided too, of course. One of my stays included provision of two televisions in the accomodation! The standard of decor is excellent, well designed rooms and carefully chosen attention to detail. Breakfast dining facilities most comfortable and relaxing too, very high standard of service and catering… with lovely selection of breakfast choices and excellent coffee! Staff team particularly friendly and cheerful, professional and helpful. Most attentive and responsive to any requests and/or queries. High standard of individual service provided, tailored to my own personal requirements .

As a treat to ourselves, my friend and I booked a couple of executive rooms for a night. What can I say but ..WOW! This is the nicest room I've ever stayed in. Not only was it a spacious room, it had such beautiful touches throughout including a fridge, microwave and a fan! My room was mainly gold, I had golden wrapped chocolates on my pillow. My friend had red to go with her decor. Lux soap and other toiletries were complimentary . The whole guesthouse was full of little treasures including lamps made from saxophones, drills, old telephones. Attention to detail was superb. Staff were lovely. The breakfast was delicious. If I had any constructive feedback, I think an extra hot drink dispenser at breakfast would help. When we went, there was a queue and the machine itself is very slow. Walking into town took about 20 minutes, on the flat. Chester itself is just beautiful. The Cathedral is awe inspiring. I would highly recommend staying here and would absolutely love to come back, particularly if I had the same room. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

A warm welcome at the hotel, Room was furnished & decorated well. Shower was great with a large shower head. Breakfast was buffet style. Full English or Continental. Would stay next time we visited Chester. Close to City Centre by bus or by taxi.

We had a warm welcome to the hotel and our courtyard room was ideal. There is plenty of parking which is a great bonus so close to Chester. It was easy to walk to local shops & restaurants and also not far to walk into Chester centre. The room we stayed in was clean and equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast was very nice with lots of choice and friendly staff. We had a lovely stay & felt it was very good value for money too.
