I stayed for 2 nights in Oct 2024. Giving this 3 stars for the friendly service. The front desk staff was really friendly. The breakfast attendant was super sweet, while working super hard to keep up with a full crowd - right when she opened at 6:30. Pros: -Friendly Staff -Very Comfortable Bed & Pillows -Decent breakfast/coffee Cons: -Very dated and tired room... curtains had tears in them -The air in the room felt damp -My room had 2 tvs, neither worked (nice TVs but the service didn't seem to be working) -The wifi didn't work during my stay

We normally like HI Express but we will not return to this one. We were there, for a couple days and housekeeping thought it was a good idea, to yell, to each other, from one end of the hall, to the other, while playing a radio. The tv, in the breakfast area was very loud, making conversation nearly impossible. The guests, who did try to talk, had to talk loudly, to be heard. The volume was apparently, for the convenience of one of the front desk staff. The breakfast attendant seemed put out, that he had to refill breakfast foods and he let the coffee run out. The sheer curtains, in our room, were torn. There is so much room, for improvement here.

This place SEEMED to have ok ratings, but apparently they have slipped . We made reservations the day of, early, so they had plenty of time to get our room right. When we got there, they did not have a room ready for us, which caused a scramble to find one, but, to be fair, they DID find a room that was empty- but only SEMI-CLEANED. There was only a cursory cleaning done on the room, and we ended up doing some of the cleaning ourselves. The overall feel of the motel is that it was nice at one time, but has been let go in the interest of making money. The hall carpets are stained, and dingy, the outside has been ignored a bit as well. The breakfast was ok, standard fare, and the breakfast lady was hustling to keep up with the demand. Front desk personnel were pretty mediocre, on check in, I inquired as to whether I could pay cash at check out, and was told yes- on checking out, I was told no, they never take cash. Pretty incompetent.

Room was damp. The AC did not work properly. The bed was on its last leg 5 years ago. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not up to HIE standards. No boiled eggs, over cooked biscuits, and over cooked cheesy eggs. Parking was plenty and restaurants were near by. Another guest I spoke with on the same floor had the same issue of their room being damp too. The bed felt sticky due to humidity.

When I checked in the room appeared to be clean & satisfactory. I went to shower and noticed brown rings all in the tub , definitely not clean we also were only given two towels and rags. I spilled a Pepsi at 2am and cleaned it with one of the towels I had, we were charged with damaged property and after speaking to the general manager she said I should have brought the towel down at 2 am to be cleaned. ***!!!! You care more about clean towels than clean tubs? Management also stated 3 towels & rags were put in standard rooms which ours did not have. They don't provide you with after hours housekeeping so there's that! I was also told If anything gets on their bedding or towels you will be charged. Please revamp this Hotel!

We stayed two nights. Our first room had problems. Located directly above the main entrance, the window HVAC unit ****** in all the smoke from the smokers who were standing just outside the main entrance. This defeated the purpose of a non-smoking room. The room was also close to the ice machine and elevator, so it was noisy. When we brought the problems to the attention of the front desk the next morning we were quickly given another room. We appreciated the prompt and cheerful service. The new room did not have these problems, however there were just two large towels and the heat/AC was difficult to regulate properly.

If you are a fan of the HIE model like I am you will understand what I am saying here. I booked this place many months ago and walked in the door as a Platinum Elite member. The guy at the front desk for check in was barely polite and interested, no mention of my loyalty membership or offer of a bottle of water or other bonus typically given. The first room he gave us was on the busy street side when I specified a quiet room so I had to return to the front desk and ask for a better room, what a pain after a long day on the road to get there. The place was worn, elevators noisy and appeared poorly maintained and our room was average quality. Breakfast was the basic HIE menu with no frills. I have stayed in many HIE properties and on a scale of one to ten I'd give this one a five. This is surprising since there are lots of other hotels close by including a Marriott property, the Harrah's ****** hotel and many other Mom and Pop type motels along the road. Unless you are a committed HIE guest, I would look elsewhere in Cherokee for a better quality experience for about the same cost.

We stayed two nights. We were in town taking my mom to the ****** for her birthday. The rooms were clean and shower was good. The staff were very nice. The pool area was relaxing. When we entered the rooms, they were really cold, temp set to 61. The only problem was both of our rooms had a stuffy smell. It got worse if you adjusted the air conditioner to 72 or above. So our rooms were really cold. The shower had good pressure. IHG should invest in renovating this hotel. The staff seemed to do everything they could to accommodate the guest especially the lady preparing breakfast. If we make another ****** trip, I would stay at the ****** hotel. But if I needed to stay here again, I’m glad there is a convenient option right across the street.
