Return visit and as magical as before. The staff are kind and attentive. Highly recommend for early season trout fishing. The team are a great wealth of knowledge in terms of local flies and methods. The beats are pristine. The food is absolutely excellent. Cannot wait to return!

The hotel allows owners to take their dogs into all areas of the hotel. It creates a very friendly atmosphere and makes conversation easy to strike up. The restaurant is very good, a limited menu; but all well executed. Staff were excellent and easy going. Nothing stuffy about the hotel. Our room was spacious and well equipped and decorated innkeeping with the establishment. There is a rentable tree house in the extensive grounds, which looks magical for kids and old romantics. All in all, a very enjoyable weekend.

We had the best wedding at Fox & Hounds! The staff, especially Tom were absolutely incredible. Leading up to the big day we had regular correspondence with Tom who ensured the whole day went exactly as planned. If anything went wrong we had no idea! The grounds are stunning, the rooms are great. The bridal suite was beautiful, big enough for myself and 3 bridesmaids to get ready along with additional people. The food was amazing and there was loads of it. Tom could honestly not do enough for us. We are eternally grateful for all of the staff for making our day that extra big special. I honestly cannot thank you all enough for everything you did. We have so much love for you guys and we look forward to coming back next year for our anniversary!

After recommendations from my neighbour, I visited this restaurant for my husbands birthday. We arrived in due course and were advised to sit in the bar and someone would get us when a table was free. We ordered drinks and waited, and waited. After 30 minutes, I went to see the staff to see if we had been forgotten. She lied to us and said she had told us to go in the restaurant, which was untrue. We would have gone in. She then said she would sort it. We went to the restaurant which, apart from 2 tables, was empty and the tables had been cleared. A waitress came in and told us to take a seat, I asked where as none of the tables were laid, she again said she would sort it. After dinner, we waited for the table to be cleared and the desert offered. Again, this didn't happen. After a catalogue of errors, we left the restaurant in disgust.

This is the first truly dog friendly hotel i have ever stayed in. There was no segregation when eating (tables are a good distance from each other), and they can go with you where ever you go. The 6 acre grounds are fantastic to walk the dogs in and as for the food - it was out of this world.

Just come back from a couple of nights with our dogs at this fantastic hotel. Room was spacious and comfortable with a good view over the gardens. Breakfast was hot and plentiful; dinner was tasty; the grounds are inviting and spacious. What made it for us was the friendliness of all staff, and the welcome for our dogs. Other residents mostly had dogs and we all conversed with each other - what is it about dogs that makes their humans so social ?!! Would happily come for another stay.

We spent three nights at the Fox and Hounds with our miniature dachshund. This has to be the most pet friendly hotel! Dogs are allowed in all public areas including the restaurants and they really get a good welcome. During our stay none of the dogs were behaving badly and it was a pleasure to be in their company. We were on a bed, breakfast and evening meal inclusive package which also included a cream tea and a couple of pints of delicious Devon cider. The hotel is set in beautiful countrywide with gardens leading down to the river. In spring and summer they must be stunning. Our room was of a very good standard and was very clean and well equipped. It was easily accessed at the top of the stairs on the first floor. All the staff, bar none, were extremely helpful and it was noticeable that they were all positive with customer service being their top priority. The food was excellent with a variety of starters and main courses on offer. The wines were reasonably price and the ones we tried tasted good. The buffet style breakfast was delicious. Overall our stay was extremely good value for money. We will be returning!!

Excellent and friendly staff, comfy rooms, good food and fabulous grounds. Used as a base for more adventurous walking in the surrounding area, this mini break was as good a dose of well being anyone could ask for. We will surely come again soon.

Another great stay at the Fox and Hounds. Lovely friendly team, always make us feel welcome. Good food and the buffet style breakfast is a great addition, especially like us, when you need an early start. Also a good price for our dinner, b&b stay. We'll be back again next year.
