Wish I had read reviews on this site rather than a rival one. The owner/staff are keyboard warriors and will react to what I am writing. You need to read all reviews to get a feel for this place as it has issues, personally I think it is the bedroom I stayed in - cotton - that is a part of the problem. There are five bedrooms, mine was very small, so was bathroom, the main door didn’t fit frame. It was a quirky room, cost £230 per night. Vastly overpriced!! There are better options at half the price to be had. Breakfast was no better, any fresh foods looked well past their best, there was no interaction between ourselves and staff even though one member was sat on her computer 4 metres away with door open. It doesn’t take much to be pleasant with guests, especially in such a small hotel, just didn’t happen. Obviously other guests have a completely different opinion to mine, we stayed two nights, but if you read what’s out there, our experience of this hotel is not unique. Probably would not have reviewed this place but, after we left, the owner sent an ‘extensive’ email to me about what my wife had written in their guestbook. I could go on and give lots of detail, I’ll leave that to hotel bijou. Out of the seven hotels we visited in US this was one of the most expensive and frankly the most disappointing, the others were superb, especially in their customer relations. Why did I give it two stars rather than one, breakfast slightly improved on second day. Don’t book the room I was in, it’s poor value for what you’re spending.
