We stay at Hilton hotels often, but this is the first time that I have felt compelled to write a review. The staff was excellent and so friendly from the lady that made our omelette to the maids we passed in the halls. Lisa at the front desk was the most friendly and helpful staff member that I have ever encountered at a Hilton. She always made a point to talk to our children and helped us find fun activities for the day. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.
Hilton Club Liberty Place Charleston

Simply Top Shelf architectural design with beautifully appointed rooms and interior spaces. Great location with many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Friendly staff. Zac (valet), in particular, was very cordial, helpful, and a pleasure to meet. We enjoyed our visit to Charleston and highly recommend the HGVC at Liberty Place!

So I booked a 3 day stay at this hotel for a beach trip. Initially, checking in was easy because I booked my stay online, check-in was seamless. I then went out to the beach for majority of the day. Upon returning, showering, and getting ready for bed, the light from the TV showed spots on the sheets. At first I thought I was seeing things, but after shining my phone flashlight on the sheets, confirmed my view and it was disgusting. I then called the front desk to get new sheets, to which I was given ‘fresh’ sheets, and in the second photo, the sheets was in a worse condition. I was given the option to move to a new room, but at that point I did not feel comfortable sleeping there. After I started to itch from the bed sheets, and questioned as to why I was “just now reporting this” after having been at the beach all day, I packed my bags and asked to check out immediately at around 1am in the morning. The following afternoon, after finding a new hotel to stay at, I called to ask for a refund or a one night stay reimbursement after noticing that I was charged for the night, I was assured by the cleaning manager and front office manager that “that all the bed sheets are supposed to look like that” and that I don’t qualify for a refund and was still charged for the room that I did not even stay one night in. My parents have worked & works for Marriott and they both told me that bed sheets aren’t supposed to look like that. I’m writing this review to say that I will never stay at this hotel again since “all the bed sheets are supposed to look like that.”
The Vendue, Downtown Art Hotel

Wish I had booked another hotel, the worst issue is that they don't take security seriously here (our room was left ajar for who knows how long after house cleaning visited). My friend and I checked in separately, he had a much different experience than I. When I went to check in there wasn't anyone in the lobby. They don't have a check in desk so you just have to wander around and find someone. After 5/10 minutes no one showed up, so we just figured we'd come back. Came back to two men who were maybe hotels workers chatting with each other. They kept chatting while we waiting and eventually helped us but for sure made it seem like we were bothering him. My friend got offered sparking wine at check in, I didn't. We were also on the ground floor, I wish I knew to request NOT being on the ground floor. It was so loud right outside our window. Later that evening we went back for cookie hour at 9pm, saw one of the same guys there and went to grab a cookie. The guy harshly said ”these are for across the street” and walked away from us. Thank goodness for the nice doorman, who was super helpful and kind. He's basically the reason they are getting 2 stars instead of 1. Anyway on our second to last day we returned to our rooms at around 4pm after a day of exploring. We noticed our door propped open, so we figured house cleaning was happening then. Nope. No one was inside. Our door was just open, for anyone to enter all day. Thankfully none of our stuff was stolen, but left me feeling very unsettled. All in all, would not recommend due to not caring about security and rude check in folks.
The Palmetto Hotel, Charleston

My husband and I stayed at The Palmetto for our 25th anniversary and it was a most wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful with lovely appointments and a most gracious and friendly staff. There’s always refreshments in the lobby, and a variety of fantastic restaurants literally right outside the front door. We took the opportunity to use the hotel’s complimentary bikes one day and enjoyed exploring the city - that was a nice touch! If we ever return to Charleston we will definitely stay at The Palmetto again; the location is perfect, the room was beautiful and comfortable, the hotel design is top-tier boutique, and the staff exceptional!
The Spectator Hotel

Our stay at the Spectator was out standing! We were greeted by our butler Will and the valet to park our car. While checking in we were gifted free cocktails WOW. Our room was lovely, spacious and the balcony nice. After a day of enjoying Charleston we came back to a welcome nightcap left in our room. Our room was cleaned to perfection by Renee each day. We will be back to finish what time didn't allow this trip. T. Kirkland
