Les Gîtes du Pays de Charleroi

Oh dear! One to avoid I'm afraid... The reviews we read were glowing but this is at complete odds to what we found. Seedy doesn't begin to describe this place - if the filthy WC in the Hall cupboard wasn't off-putting enough the place was disgraceful at any price. We didn't stay - choosing to drive another hour and a half or more where for less than double the price we stayed in a luxury hotel in Brugge less than 300 mts from the central square with breakfast included. Despite communicating our dissatisfaction the same evening and the fact that we literally looked at the accommodation and left (having taken a couple of photographs as evidence), the owner's response was that no refund was justified. Perhaps that is the intention - money for nothing!!! As for Free Parking - this is also misleading - there is only metered parking in the street outside. Very disappointing.
