The Norfolk Arms, Chapeltown

Booked a pre Christmas meal for 11 people a couple of weeks in advance and even provided a list of food required. Never been here before will never go again. It has got to be the most disgusting meal I have ever been served. I used to run a pub that served food so I know what I am talking about. The wooden floor was very slippery felt very greasy could do with a good clean with very hot water to move all the dirt, I know they had a mop as the cleaning equipment was outside the ladies toilet door, trip hazard!! The stuffing balls were so hard if you tried to stick your fork in they shot off the plate, the roasties were literally black from being burnt, the "veg" were so overcooked they mashed into each other. Someone had a mixed grill, egg snotty and undercooked and all the meat was burnt and tough. We asked where the pigs in blankets were, when they were brought out some were still frozen in the middle others burnt to a cinder. By this time we weren't looking forward to what the desserts would be like and hey they were just as bad. We were told it was the chefs day off?????? but who did the cooking then. When we saw who was doing the cooking none of us would have even sat down to the table. Surely someone who knew what they were doing should have been in the kitchen. This place is a serious hygiene hazard, needs inspecting by the Health and Safety standards. the man who was serving was most apologetic and deducted a couple of meals from the bill. Had I had made the booking I would have demanded a full refund. Disgusting place to be avoided at all cost. Couldn't give a 0 rating unfortunately.
