I am mostly a trusting person. And I trusted the staff to follow through on refunding me $300+ for 3 cancelled night's stay due to my inability to sleep as a result of their negligence and incompetence in running a good hotel. However, after my nightmarish experience with this hotel, I am, sadly, much less trusting. My story of theft and incompetence by the employees and hotel director at Villa Arthotel 1927 in Chapala Mexico: I was was to stay at the the Villa 1927 Arthotel the last week in March 2022. However, I had to cut my stay short by 3 days due to a major problem at this hotel Pamela, an employee at this hotel seemed quite nice at the beginning. She spoke English as did the manager, Norma. Both Pamela and Norma, along with their 'boss', a non-English speaking man, agreed to refund 3 nights of my stay, totaling over $300. This was due to my losing 2 nights sleep as a result of this hotel allowing partying until 2am in the pool area located directly in front of my room! They were catering mostly to the golf families that came for the wknd from Guadalajara who had many kids and wanted to party all night. I was only 1 person, who did not seem to count. I met with both Pamela and the main director of the hotel, (a non English speaking man, whose name, I unfortunately lost ). As witnessed by, employee Pamela who translated, "The boss" agreed to refund me 3 days stay, totaling over $300, as I planned to leave 3 days early due to exhaustion from being kept up for several nights. due to partiers This was the last week of March 2022. Upon leaving, I did not get my refund only a hotel print out that, I thought stated my refund would be forthcoming on my next credit card statement. However, since March '2022 I 'have not received my refund! That was 5 months ago!! After waiting until May 2022, I had my Spanish speaking friend contact the hotel she spoke to both Pamela, my main witness/translator, AND on yet another call she spoke to Norma who knew of this refund and promised she would be crediting my card ASAP! Despite being forced to 'run after" them, (what kind of decent hotel does that?) , making approximately no less then 8 phone calls (often no one speaking English was there)m and FINALLY speaking to both Pamela and Norma, still NO REFUND!!! For the first few calls about the whereabouts of my refund, they had explanations of delay due to Mexico's banking, made by NORMA and promises of a refund, also made by PAMELA always telling me through translator to wait, yet another month,. it is now September and still NO REFUND!!! Besides the fact that I have not received my $300+, neither employee made any effort to contact me. This was an important aspect of how disrespectful and unprofessional they have been throughout this fiasco. The time, effort, and emotional cost (as I am someone whose $300 is a lot of money), involved is clear. Given that I don't speak Spanish and always needed my Spanish friend around to call the
