Creta Elena

We loved the spacious apartment, super helpful staff and general good vibes in Creta Elena. We had not one but three balconies in our two bed apartment. The housekeepers kept everything spotlessly clean. The pool was small but perfect for cooling off and always quiet. We’d love to return some day - would highly recommend!

Me and my boyfriend stayed with Creta Elena and they were nothing but accommodating. They were very welcoming and our stay was brilliant. Everything was clean and the pool was lovely, it is a brilliant location being near to the town center. I would definitely recommend Creta Elena if you are planning to visit Chania.

I spent a week here in September 2022. My main reason for booking here was due to having a pool, the proximity to the old town/ harbour and the contemporary appearance. The premises itself is relatively small with only approximately 15 apartments providing a quiet and peaceful environment. Although the pool itself is quite small, it’s more than adequate to cool off and to swim. The lounge area surrounding provides a relaxed atmosphere and somewhere to eat/ drink which is provided from the hotel bar. My room was a very good size, modern vibe, recently refurbished bathroom, very comfortable memory foam bed and a small kitchenette. Whilst I didn’t really use this, it provided the basic equipment that would be needed. A free safe, wifi and AC were also present. The location of the hotel is next to a supermarket, chocolate/ health shop, cafe/ bakery, wine bar, bistro and crepe restaurant. Just a few moments away you can find a tabac, pharmacy and takeaways etc. The marina is a 15/20 minutes walk depending on your pace, but it’s very accessible and several stop points en route if needed. Elana would certainly be my choice destination should I return to Crete but I would certainly look to book a garden/ pool view to maximise my stay. The staff at the hotel were faultless, polite, helpful and professional throughout my stay. I’m addition, the domestic cleaning team never seemed to stop and kept the place spotless!!!

We stayed in the one-bedroom corner unit on the ground floor and it was absolutely the most perfect spot- always shady patio area right next to a little lawn in the garden. Even on the property was full the pool was always empty in the afternoons when we got back from sightseeing. Reception staff were incredibly friendly and the place was kept completely spotless by the very hard-working and lovely housekeeping staff. The air-conditioning was great, and paper slippers/amenities came in handy The only thing that bugs me about Chania has nothing to do with the hotel but just to give other travellers a heads up - there’s only one taxi company (no Uber or equivalent here) and it’s heinously busy/unreliable. If you plan to have a few drinks in the harbour and don’t fancy the 25 minute walk back to the hotel at night, even if you book a taxi hours ahead (which we were advised to do) there’s a good chance it won’t turn up at all (happened to us) or 45 mins late (also happened to us🙃) Even with our lovely receptionist calling them to talk to them in Greek three times, we just kept getting told ‘it’s coming’ - not fun when you’re standing in the sun for ages! If I came back to Chania, I would def stay at Creta Elena again.

Booked Creta Elena based on reviews and location and it was perfect. We had a one bed apartment with two balconies and loads of space, the air con was fantastic during a very hot 12 days, housekeeping daily was great, amenities in room good - kettle and coffee maker, fridge and ice box - we went self catering and plenty of room for what we needed. Supermarket next door is so convenient and a number of bars and restaurants in the vicinity but only 10/15 min walk to the harbour and old town - we got lots of steps in and enjoyed all of them. Pool clean and well maintained, staff friendly but we were left to ourselves, and lovely Leon the cat to fuss too - be warned if you want to give him a treat you must go to him as he does not like to move from his spot sleeping on balcony chairs in the shade. Happy memories of Creta Elena and we will be back ❤️

Charming host family, great rooms, quality bed, sheets and towels etc.. I reserved because they had a pool- this was a great decision .. we recovered from jetlag quickly and my teens have fond memories of Chania- i suspect 4 years from now they will only remember the pool :) We look forward to visiting again.
