Staying for several days at the Tanneries Hotel is one of the nicest hotel experiences I have had for a long time. The staff were exceptionally kind and professional, the rooms are extremely comfortable. The hotel is inspirationally designed with excellent quality throughout. The resteraunt food is first class, not only the decor, the standard of the kitchen but also and very much, the quality ingredients, presentation, flavours and quantities. The health spa is also well designed and perfect for the size of the hotel and located with views across the sea and to the old town of Chania. I found the power jet within the pool helpful in working out in the morning and the gym has a good range of fine quality equipment.

The hotel is rich with carefully designed details. The rooms opening up to the sea are very comfortable, large enough and perfectly equipped with everything you might expect. Friendly staff and the unique location make this hotel a true jewel.

What a gem! One of the best, if not the best place to stay in Chania. There are just 20 rooms, all overlooking the coast and with the soothing sound of the waves seeping through the large windows. Solid wood floors and marble bathrooms, with shower and steam shower. Very comfortable beds and very good quality toiletries. Staff are very polite and truly helpful! I am already looking forward to our return stay there!

The hotel is some way to the east of central Chania, so a taxi is needed to get to town. It's an excellent conversion and retains good features from the original building. Our room was large and interesting. Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom excellent. The restaurant was reasonable, but not exceptional, although it's always lovely to sit out overlooking the little harbour. Our sleep was disturbed initially by the restaurant outside meaning we couldn't have the window open, and later on by some noisy pipe gurgles. Maybe that has been sorted?

Fabulous stay. The property was beautifully situated right by the sea with excellent views from the room and balcony. Bed was very comfortable and shower was great. The staff was very nice. The food at breakfast and dinner was delicious and it was so nice to eat right by the water. I have already recommended this property to numerous people. It is about a half hour walk from the old town which is quite pleasant in good weather. I would love to return one day.

The Tanneries is one of the finest resort hotels we've ever visited. We stayed a week. Every day we pushed the buttons to retract the black-out screens and enjoyed the sight and sound of the ocean immediately below our private balcony. For the first few days we did not want to leave the room: it was so beautiful with comfortable large bed and high quality cotton sheets and pillows. The hotel is only two years and everything is perfect in the room and hotel. The heated pool is great but you will need to decide whether to use the general steam room or the one in your room. Staff is knowledgeable, personable, and caring. The full breakfast is excellent and even creative. Dinners are excellent. We did a Greek wine tasting with Ero, the Crete Wine Ass'n chosen international representative. The massage was excellent and reasonably priced. We truly did not want to leave and plan to return with the rest of our family. We greatly appreciated the fact that the resort did not 'push' us to spend extra money on the options but let us come to appreciate what was available. It is only a 20 minute walk into Old Town Chania and about the same to drive to the airport. Car rentals can be dropped off sat the hotel. Truly, this is an amazing place and a good value.

Amazing place - staff exellent - location a bit out of the centre - maybe 2kms nice walk by the coast (so very quiet). Rooms fantastic - Very high tech with loads of sockets, usb, technology to help. The first hotel I have ever stayed in that has a power socket and 2 USB sockets in the SAFE! Only there one night so missed dinner (and breakfast that starts at 8am - a pity) - so cant comment on food. Two complementary bottles of water, and free nespresso coffee. Views very good - pool decent and gym ok. Not cheap, but probably worth the price.
