This is by far the worst experience I’ve had at a 5-star hotel. It’s disappointing to see the management copy-paste the same generic response to negative reviews without taking real steps to address recurring issues. I understand renovations or maintenance come with costs, but even then, they’re nowhere near the standard of hotels like Tentrem or Padma. So it seems like the hotel owner gave up or is being careless.
I genuinely feel bad for the staff, who are kind and helpful, but clearly working within the limits of a poorly maintained property. The internet connection was initially very weak, though it was resolved quickly. The TV in my room was broken and had to be replaced.
The bathroom sink was filthy, the door to my room was broken, the bedding sheets have a lot of stains and the hallway smelled like a damp, moldy basement. Sound insulation is practically nonexistent. I could hear everything from the room next door, including disturbing noises, and loud motorcycles from the main street well into the night. If you’re a light sleeper, definitely request a room not facing the main road.
Breakfast was average at best. Some dishes were okay, but the dry pastries and sushi were especially disappointing.
The gym was poorly maintained, with a damaged floor and even a cockroach crawling across it, which pretty much sums up the lack of proper upkeep throughout the property. At this point, I lost the will to even complain to the staff. It just felt pointless.
You’ll survive a few days if you’re choosing this hotel for its location, but don’t expect 5-star quality. The facilities are poorly maintained, and while the staff try their best, the overall experience falls far short of what you’d expect from a top-tier hotel. It’s a place you tolerate, not enjoy.
