Riung Guesthouse

Family-run guesthouse. The rooms are simple but spacious, clean, and comfortable. Paul and his family are friendly and helpful, and assisted us with transport to and from Riung, as well as with the organization of our trip around the 17 Islands Archipelago. We had dinner at the guest house and it was absolutely delicious. The home-cooked meal was full of flavour and clearly made with care. It felt like a true taste of local hospitality – fresh, hearty, and comforting.

Good location (20min walk to the port, good restaurants around). Room was comfortable and clean with everything you need (even a washing line in front of every room). No wifi or hot water but that's not a problem there. Paul is an amazing host who will make you feel like home and help you with everything you need. Thank you again!

Entering this little guesthouse was like entering a very peacefull place. The chambers with small terras situated on a nice garden are super. Mr Paul, the very friendly and helpfull owner showed us everything and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed our stay here, in this corner of Flores.

Aug 2023. Paul and his family gave us an incredible warm welcome. The rooms are behind his house. The garden is lovely, well maintained. The rooms are basic but spacious and super clean. Not really warm shower (it was warm weather so no problem) and also low water pressure. Rooms also have a nice little terrace and clothes line for drying stuff. We got served some tea/coffee, so relaxing. The village has a few good but basic restaurants (cooked to order so go early or be prepared to wait long!) within walking distance of the guesthouse. Breakfast is a delish pancake with fruit and coffee/tea. We did not use any other services like driver or boat arrangement, we had a driver ourselves who took care of that with us. Paul is always up for a chat and told us about how he started the guesthouse. He's very humble. Invited us to try some arak when he was having dinner with other drivers/guides. So nice! It is a great experience to see a bit of his home and local life in Flores. Everyone keeps checking in if things are good or if you need anything. Highly recommend this place!
