Baymont by Wyndham Cedar City

Decent room, appreciated the family suite. Beds were nice. Stopped in to the lobby, she gave us a cheaper price than I could find online and got checked right in. Would stay again if we ever needed to.

Breakfast included waffles which was a plus, in my opinion. Rooms were clean but sheets were worn and mattress could be upgraded. Good location, exterior was clean, and pleasant architecture design.

This hotel, formerly known as El Rey, is one of the most venerable in Cedar City. It does show its age a bit (for example, the bathrooms are very compact and the showers are made for shorter people), but the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the location is perfect if you’re going to the Utah Shakespeare Festival (as I suspect most summer visitors to Cedar City are). It’s also a short walk to many popular eating establishments.

I am totally satisfied with the accommodations at this hotel. The room was clean the atmosphere was fine. The breakfast could’ve been a little bit better, and the parking leaves a little bit to be desired. Other than that great place.

Although the motel room was clean, two things make me not want to come back here. First, there are only half-sized pillows for the bed. Not nearly large enough for an adult. When I called the desk to ask for standard size pillows, I was told they don't have any. Second, the toilet is also the smallest I've ever seen, and it is in a cramped space with the door directly in front of it. I'm 5' 11", 220 pounds, and I could barely use it. Anyone larger than me would have great deal of difficulty using it.

We originally stayed for a night during a road trip, but due to unexpected events, we had to spend a second night. The staff was very helpful and arranged that for us. The rooms are on the small side and the building is old, but we would have no problem staying at this hotel if we were passing through again.
