HIlton Garden Inn Roanoke

The hotel is in a great location and the staff is super friendly. A little more attention needs to be paid to cleaning the rooms, but when I complained, I was immediately moved to a room that was better, although not great. It looked like they were "hitting the high spots" and neglecting things like corners in the bathroom floors and vacuuming underneath beds and dusting off the chairs at the desks in the rooms. It wasn't awful, but I certainly expected better from such a beautiful building and location.

The hotel had a snack store and restaurant. The staff was very friendly. The view is beautiful and there are lots of food options in close proximity. Maybe it was just busy but I do wish there was a little more parking spaces. Otherwise, close enough to everything but a little out of the city.

This hotel is a great "halfway" point for us when we travel to and from North Carolina. Unlike many hotels at this price point, this one has a fabulous view! Even if you don't have a room that is in the front of the hotel, you can still sit/stand along the edge of the driveway when the sun is setting and capture great views with your camera (better than from a screened/glassed in sleeping room, I should add). We had a sleeping room that faced the front for 1 night at the beginning of our road trip and had a room that faced the back of the property for 1 night at the end of our road trip. For both times, it was a quiet experience, even though there were many guests staying at the property. While the sleeping rooms and amenities are kind of bare-bones (example: just 1 bath, hand and face towel each for 2 guests staying in a king room), the sleeping areas and bathrooms are clean and orderly. Housekeeping is done every two days (a sign in the bathroom is posted alerting guests of this), but this limitation did not apply for our stay since we were only there each time for 1 night. The front desk and dining area staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast can be had in the mornings for a nominal fee (about $12). Their menu included pancakes, French toast, waffles and other hot items, all of which comes with a side. They also had a variety of cold cereals, hot oatmeal, fresh cut fruit, muffins, bagels, etc. I had breakfast there both mornings we were there. They also offered dinner if you prefer not to venture out (we did went out for dinner both times) and they also had a bar where you can get a glass of wine for just $7 (they also had other alcoholic beverages). They have a large urn of coffee in the mornings, where you can fill up on coffee before, during and after breakfast (have to go). Based on the consistent cleanliness and quiet of the rooms, free coffee and available low-cost breakfast, we will stay at this property in the future if our travels take us by Roanoke again.

Exceptional property. Sits high a hill and has a great view. Plenty of party. Well maintained property. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was great with great choices. The front desk staff was outstanding. Karen was great. Breakfast was outstanding and service exceptional .

PROS: Clean, pillows are wonderfully comfortable, blinds darken room adequately, outside noise not an issue, Keurig machine, and friendly staff. CON: Only one...beds are too firm. Overall, I would stay here again. I only hope that by then, the mattresses have been replaced with something softer.

We took a little trip to the mountains for NYE and wanted to stay in Roanoke since it has plenty around. The pictures of this hotel looked nice. The lobby and grounds seemed to be updated but the rooms IMO are outdated and need a deep Clean. The bathrooms were not clean, and very choppy remodel. The bathroom fan didn’t seem to work so it was pretty foggy. Our room 231 didn’t have a Mountain View which was very disappointing as that’s what we came for. The beds were rock hard. Not sure how other reviewers like to sleep but I don’t like to sleep on hard a mattress. The price was right and the lobby and grounds were clean but I’ll probably look elsewhere next time in the area due to the room not being updated/clean and the view.

Just checked out and I had to write a review immediately. My husband and I got away for a relaxing night an hour away. We were greeted by Karen who greeted us with a smile and was very efficient getting us checked in. This hotel is super clean and the staff were all friendly. The breakfast was plentiful. The pillows and bed were super comfy and the sheets were super soft and didn’t smell of overwhelming bleach. It was nice having the Keurig in the room with coffee AND tea! We will be recommending this hotel to anyone coming to our area.

I rarely leave a review, but my experience at this Hilton Garden Inn was superb. First of all, it's clean as a whistle. Very impressive. The young man at the front desk, the manager of the breakfast service, the landscape guy, and everyone else I came in contact with were exceptionally helpful and friendly. I thought I lost the key to my car. The staff could not have been more helpful. Very pet friendly. I was only passing through, but I'm encouraging my friends in the region to send their visitors here.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was clean, pleasant, and appealing. Nice location and views of the mountains. Friendly helpful staff, especially the front desk staff. Enjoyed the Keurig coffee in the lobby. No complaints! The bed and pillows were very comfortable.
