We had a warm welcome from Jade at The Castle Inn today, all the other staff were friendly and helpful too. We all thoroughly enjoyed our roast lunch - delicious and well presented on hot plates. Thank you to everyone and also for surprising my mum with a birthday treat

Booked for a family Sunday lunch and was not disappointed! Wonderful food and exceptional hospitality shown by Merrity, Jade and Elouise - nothing was too much trouble, not rushed in any way and extremely polite. Something which is lacking in so many other establishments these days.

The Castle Inn truly exceeded expectations. From the warm, inviting atmosphere to the quality of food and service, everything was spot on. The setting strikes just the right tone — comfortable, stylish, and relaxed — making it ideal for anything from a casual drink to a special meal. The menu offers a great variety, with dishes that are thoughtfully prepared and full of flavour. Every plate felt carefully considered, and it’s clear that fresh, quality ingredients are a priority here. Drinks were equally impressive, with a solid range of options including wines, beers, and well-made cocktails. Staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic, creating a welcoming and easygoing experience from start to finish.

Wonderful lunch with my partner and little girl. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. A wide range of options on the menu and what we chose was delicious! We were told the menu was due to change soon so we are planning a return visit soon!

Where do I start! From entry they were very welcoming! Management are doing a fab job! Their team is amazing! Unlike what other reviews have said! And the food! Wow! The set menu was amazing! And I’m still thinking about it! And the chips are to die for !

We came here as a group of 8, including 2 little ones, for a drink in the gorgeous courtyard in the sunshine. This turned in to a spontaneous dinner inside the pub. The staff could not have been more accommodating (Alfie and Dominic I believe) they were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The drinks menu is extensive and the high quality of food is noticeable. I had the most flavoursome shell on prawns from the specials board in a mouthwatering garlic and chilli butter served with crusty sourdough to mop up every last drop of the sauce. With both the quality of the produce and top notch service, the castle inn is definitely good value for money. I will 100% be returning and recommending to all my friends.

Booked for lunch. Food was great but the experience was let down by poor, inattentive service. We had to intercept a member of staff every time we wanted to order something - drinks, food, more drinks, bill. It was really disappointing especially since there was absolutely no shortage of staff and the lunch service was only moderately busy (plenty of free tables). Would I go there again? Probably not.

Beautiful pub in a cracking location great menu but the attitude of the young woman at the bar convinced my wife that we wouldn’t spend money on food here. I see others have said the same, this pub will lose money until front of house addresses their negative approach to customers. Too busy cleaning the coffee machine to serve customers at the bar. The Australians and Americans at the bar were not impressed either. Never to return. Oh, and “ you can’t sit there until three o’clock” - at five minutes to three. Pathetic. And I don’t do negative reviews. But this one’s deserved.
