Unlucky for me I messed up my booking dates and only found out when I arrived. Two pieces of luck followed, I was greeted by the delightful receptionist, Jennifer from memory, who booked me in to the last room available and arranged for me and two guest of mine to join me for dinner. The restaurant was fully booked, but they managed to squeeze us in. I was allocated room 12, which is on the 1st floor overlooking the front of the hotel. A comfortable, clean twin room, with everything you would expect in a hotel room, with very good quality towels and lots of hot water. I had an issue with my phone charger, popped down to reception and Jennifer, found me a charger I could borrow, she saved my day again, that was the 3rd time in 1/2hr. My guests arrived a short time later and we enjoyed a great meal, all 3 having the scallops, 2 of us sharing a wonderfully presented and incredibly tasty Chateaubriand, best I’ve ever had. I was encouraged by the waitress to sample the Mochi Dessert and am now addicted to them. After a good night sleep and enjoyed the well presented breakfast, there was Jennifer at reception to thank me for choosing Le Friquet and wishing me a good day. I visit Guernsey 5 or 6 times a year and if it’s my choice I always try to stay at Le Friquet, with the home from home feel, the warmth of the welcome, great food and attentive staff, why choose anywhere else!
