So, after a long, overnight flight from the US, we arrive at the hotel to only be told that we don't have the 2 rooms that we paid for and reserved. They tried to tell us that we had canceled the reservation. Then I showed them my Agoda/ Priceline hotel vochure, which says we fully paid for the rooms. In addition, I showed them my Visa statement that showed that the room had been charged by the booking agent and paid for in full. So after this, I was expecting to be able to check in. But no. I was then told that even though I paid for the room in full, that they were having issues with Agoda, and they THEY and cancelled our room reservations and I would have to take up getting a refund for my payment with Agoda and we would have to pay for the rooms again. In addition, they only had one room left for that day, and we would have to share the room. I asked if I would have a regular double bed because I don't like sleeping on cots. They said yes. I got to the room, and it was an uncomfortable, hard cot. This hotel never contacted us to let us know that they canceled the reservation and that they no longer had my room. This was an extremely negative experience. They did try to make up for things by sending us 3 glasses of champagne and some fruit and nuts. I could not cancel my reservation with Agoda since it was past the time limit of 24 hours, so I called Visa and disputed the charge. Somehow, I am paying the price for the hotel's issues with the booking agents. So beware you may have the same problem. The breakfast buffet was below average, and the pool is not heated. The rooms are reasonably comfortable across from the beach.
