Overall a great hotel. Room clean and quite cool despite the weather. Kelly and Tracy from reception were lovely and helpfully answered all my questions about local food places and options for the attached Beefeater. A brilliant end to a long work day!

On arrival I was not asked if I was ok with stairs/carrying suitcase, but assigned a first floor room, nor informed about the meal deal.I am over retirement age! The room was clean and tidy. However, the towel rail had previously broken and only part was left attached to the wall. Therefore, nowhere to hang wet towels. The toilet seat was loose and the basin tap had to be left running for several minutes to obtain warm water but then only at a “dribble” rate. I ate in the restaurant. It was there that the meal deal was explained. On the Wednesday, I asked the receptionist to book a table for 6.30 pm the following evening (Thursday) with breakfast at 8.30am on the Friday. In stead of logging into the computer, she wrote my name and requested booking on a piece of paper. The following morning, the same receptionist was on duty. I re-iterated my meal deal booking and once again she noted all the details on a piece of paper. I was not informed about payment. On arrival for my evening meal, I was told there was no booking and the restaurant was full. I could eat in the bar and order from there! I queued up, placed my order and advised subject to the meal deal. After 5-10 mins, the barman came over to my table and advised I was not eligible for meal deal as I had not paid - very embarassing! I explained what had occurred and was advised to go back to Hotel receptionist to resolve. I have to say this receptionist was extremely pleasant and apologetic, and situation resolved. Although work being undertaken at the premises, it did not affect my stay, but parking was at a premium. The Hotel itself is very tired looking both inside and out. This is the worst Premier Inn I have stayed in. A shame as convenient for all usual Cornish sights.

I've previously stayed with Premier Inn and always had a great experience. This was the exception - not terrible but not what I was expecting ! The site is very tired and in need of a refurb - looking generally tatty and worn. The staff are exceptionally helpful and cheerful which was lovely and makes a big difference. Lets hope that the owners decide to give this site the refurb it is in desperate need of so that we can book this site again in 12 months when we are due to visit the area again?

Good size clean quiet room. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable and informed us of the meal deal which we took. The food was good standard The hotel is being updated but this work did not spoilt our stay the car parking needs to be extended as well

Great service and very friendly staff on reception. Nothing was too much trouble. For a budget hotel the room was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. Do not let the fact that this hotel is currently being refurbished put you off, it will not disturb you.

Truro Premier Inn was genuinely the most soul-destroying Premier Inn I’ve ever had the misfortune to stay in. They informed us of the building works taking place there with less than 24-hours notice, so I’m not sure what we could do with the notice period they deemed to advise us in. The very reduced car parking was like a bun-fight with people abusing the blue badge parking spaces & no one enforcing it. The attached pub was still busy & their customers still needed somewhere to park as well as the hotel guests. Being registered disabled & needing the extra space to open my car door wide was an absolute joke with the car park as it is. Not at all inclusive & I’m very disappointed with Premier Inn. The decoration from reception to the bedrooms is in need of some TLC. The actual room was dark, dank & in need of redecorating throughout. The window pane was blown & condensation filled the glass so you couldn’t see out of it. The initial room cleaning left a lot to be desired & we had to buy a bottle of bleach ourselves to stop the bathroom smelling so rank. There was no hook to hang the limited towels available in the bathroom & the water flow from the sink tap was at best a dribble. There was no hot water to come out of the tap in the sink, despite leaving it running for ages & wasting water. The toilet seat didn’t fit the toilet. Clearly it’s been replaced & is too small for the toilet. Who puts the PAT sticker on the connection port to the kettle base?! It took us ages to get the kettle to work. Premier Inn have seriously lost their way in the hotel service industry. I appreciate they are building a new 27-bedroom extension to the existing hotel, but once this is done they need to close the existing hotel & refurbish it from top to bottom. Rest assured I will never return there. That is one poor excuse of a hotel to have in the Premier Inn portfolio. How have they ever let it get this bad?
