My stay at this premier inn was relaxing and a good value for my money. The room was kept clean and the hotel staff were great. Specifically Gracie at the desk helped make my stay easy and was happy to help with any questions I had. Would definitely stay again!

Staff great, building and rooms very tired/dated. Bathroom looks like it's from a Travelodge in dark blue. Mould on ceiling. Ceiling fan doesn't work. VERY basic room, for a fairly high price. No fridge, no iron/ironing board. Only liquid soap. No cushions on bed. One of the worst Premier Inns I've stayed in. In urgent need of complete renovation, especially the dated, very tired looking rooms.

Though the bed was comfy, as I find with all Premier Inns, that is where the similarity stopped. This one is very run down and in need of some TLC; it seemed very 'sad' from the moment I arrived. The receptionist was amazing, welcoming and very helpful with getting my bags up to the first floor as there is no lift and I was on crutches at the time. The breakfast was way below standard, too. I've stayed at many Premier Inns, so I haven't been put off staying at another as they are usually so reliable, but I wouldn't return to this one. One star for the bed, one for the receptionist1

Food was fantastic. Best mixed grill I think I’ve eaten. Room was tired and a bit shabby,as was the bathroom. It was quite dusty. The room was quiet though. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were horrendously hard and very uncomfortable. I had a very poor nights sleep.

Tired, dated, dirty, this is worst Premier Inn I've ever stayed at with my family and I would advise you to avoid it and stay elsewhere! On arrival the staff were friendly and welcome (as they were throughout), that was really the only good thing about it. This Premier Inn is clearly old and in need of a desperate refurbishment, but you wouldn't know that from looking at it on the website. Under the beds was previous guests items, rubbish and dust - the room needed a very good clean! The table unit under the TV had a random bit of ply wood attached to the front of it - the nails were sticking through though so the sharp edges were sticking out under the desk near the chair. There were cracks above the window in the bedroom which you could see daylight through. The carpet in the room didn't fit - there was about an inch gap between the end of the carpet and the bedroom wall. The bathroom was old, the toilet was a very strange shape (and very small) - I'm not big, but it was bizarre! The bathroom was dirty and hadn't been cleaned properly either, the bath panel was wooden and swollen / coming apart. The only positive was that the shower was nice!! I would say Premier Inn aren't that fussed, as I told the staff who completely understood and apologised, they said they'd been passing feedback on but nothing happens! The hotel seemed to be mainly use by local contract workers who just need a bed for the night. Breakfast was not your normal Premier Inn experience either, the restaurant next door is also dated. It's table service for Full English Breakfast rather than buffet. The food was nice and staff friendly enough. If staying again in Carlisle, we would avoid this hotel which is a real shame as we have never normally had issues at Premier Inns before.

Disappointing stay. Large family room but very small window so little daylight. The bathroom smelled strongly of urine on arrival and the bath panel was damaged. No sockets near the beds so using and charging devices difficult. Paid extra for Wi-Fi upgrade but still kept dropping off so not really worth it. Good next door was very average. On the positive side staff were helpful and the breakfast was good.

WHAT A DISASTER. I was appalled by the shabby room provided. Bed was too loo. Sewage stench/mould/musty odour throughout the room freezing cold. This room was so bad they immediately brought me to another room not for a disabled customer. This room bed base damaged yet again a strong distinct sewage/mouldy smell. Stain splashes on wall chipping paint rust in the bath. Bath inaccessible way too high to step into. 2nd move smelly room stained floor bathroom chipped paint shabby room disgusting smell of sewage mould. They quickly sprayed the room which made it worse as the smell stood out. I was so upset because out of the window rubbish bins and debris. Brown stained marks in toilet. Dirty filthy carpets sticky and smelt disgusting. We had travelled 3 hrs from Yorkshire to a wedding celebration. Our family are disgusted with the rooms and what we paid. I have NEVER experienced this type of hospitality. As a disabled customer why is my room freezing cold? I was told by reception that the hotel is worn and needs updating yes I fully agree but you should say so in your literature so that customers can make a choice as to whether they stay or not. I am requesting a full refund for the room plus an apology. This had been planned in advance so we were all looking forwards to our stay. We stayed in this very hotel 15th Feb 2020. It was a lovely stay and we were certainly looking forwards to our return. As a party of 8 we are all individually sending in our complaints. I trust the hotel will respond with the correct professionalism. WE SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS BEFIRE BOOKING.

Less than average hotel. Whilst staff were friendly and welcoming, the rooms are dated and in need of some TLC. The bed as per usual for premier inns was comfortable and the reason I gave a 3 star, I would have given a 2 or even a 1 star! As noted the rooms are dated and need tlc, our curtain rail fell off when we tried to open our curtains, the radiator was covered in a substance that I cannot identify, walls were dirty...this was the bedroom. The bathroom!! Well that was a new level...it was filthy with mould around all of the bath, on particular behind taps, on the overflow, around the bath handles. Both the bath and sink taps had copious amounts of mould on the spouts making me seriously not want to brush my teeth! The toilet also had leftover urine stains from previous guests down the front of it. Months worth of grime and dirt in areas that could be easily fixed with five minutes attention. Personally I would not recommend staying here..oh and we stayed in room 21. With regards to breakfast, it is served in the adjoining establishment the Gosling Bridge Inn. At night these guys are brilliant and well prepared for a busy shift, in the morning not so much. An all you can eat breakfast where you have to order over and over again for whatever you want that is cooked...no self service station for a full breakfast. Continental breakfast no problem. "Premium sausages" noted on the breakfast menu definitely were not premium and it was disappearing that there no appropriate tea/coffee facilities. Overall glad we were only there one night.

As expected was a little dubious after reading some of the reviews but it seems to me some of the reviewers want 5 star luxury for not much more than Hostel prices. Had a good stay clean comfortable room, enjoyed my breakfast with a great choice although sausages could have been a bit better. As others have said chipped paint work etc needs a bit touch up. All in a good stay & a lovely receptionist & great staff in the pub next door for breakfast & evening meal.
