Tired, dated, dirty, this is worst Premier Inn I've ever stayed at with my family and I would advise you to avoid it and stay elsewhere! On arrival the staff were friendly and welcome (as they were throughout), that was really the only good thing about it. This Premier Inn is clearly old and in need of a desperate refurbishment, but you wouldn't know that from looking at it on the website. Under the beds was previous guests items, rubbish and dust - the room needed a very good clean! The table unit under the TV had a random bit of ply wood attached to the front of it - the nails were sticking through though so the sharp edges were sticking out under the desk near the chair. There were cracks above the window in the bedroom which you could see daylight through. The carpet in the room didn't fit - there was about an inch gap between the end of the carpet and the bedroom wall. The bathroom was old, the toilet was a very strange shape (and very small) - I'm not big, but it was bizarre! The bathroom was dirty and hadn't been cleaned properly either, the bath panel was wooden and swollen / coming apart. The only positive was that the shower was nice!! I would say Premier Inn aren't that fussed, as I told the staff who completely understood and apologised, they said they'd been passing feedback on but nothing happens! The hotel seemed to be mainly use by local contract workers who just need a bed for the night. Breakfast was not your normal Premier Inn experience either, the restaurant next door is also dated. It's table service for Full English Breakfast rather than buffet. The food was nice and staff friendly enough. If staying again in Carlisle, we would avoid this hotel which is a real shame as we have never normally had issues at Premier Inns before.
