Bantry Bay International Vacation Resort has been on our list of places to stay for quite a while. We were very excited when we finally managed to secure a suitable week through the RCI timeshare exchange. Our trip to the fairest Cape was set. Travel arrangements for flights and car hire were made through Travelstart, and we were set for departure! We made use of Uber to get to Lanseria Airport, and it proceeded without a hitch. Check-in at FlySafair was quick and efficient at the revamped Lanseria Airport. Roughly two hours later, we landed in a chilly Cape Town, excited for the week ahead. After collecting our rental vehicle, we embarked for Sea Point and Bantry Bay Resort. Our accommodation was ready for occupation, and we received courteous assistance from the staff. The remainder of the afternoon was spent having lunch and getting provisions for the week. Our itinerary wasn't very full, due to bad weather predicted for a couple of days. In a nutshell: we planned to spend time exploring Chapman's Peak, a selection of well-known beaches and small harbours and the Cape Point National Park. Our first excursion was to explore Chapman's Peak and its surroundings. We travelled the whole route up to Noordhoek and then returned the way we came, but this time around, stopping at all the numerous viewpoints along the route. Thankfully the weather cooperated, and we were presented with magical photo opportunities. Please note that a toll fee is charged when taking this route. Next on our itinerary was to visit all the well-known beaches in the vicinity. We planned to visit St James Beach, Scarborough Beach, Noordhoek Beach and Llandudno Beach. Again, the weather allowed for excellent photo opportunities and splendid views. Our harbours trip was cut short due to rain, but we managed to spend ample time at Kalk Bay Harbour to enjoy the atmosphere and scenery of this well-known attraction. We had lunches at recommended restaurants like Mariner's Wharf in Hout Bay and the Brass Bell in Kalk Bay. At the Cape Point National Park, we had a light lunch overlooking a picturesque little beach. The highlight of our culinary experiences was definitely dinner at The Hussar Grill in Camps Bay. This is a must when you are in the vicinity! Our return trip went without a hitch, and we arrived safely back home, with another memorable adventure to add to our list. We live in a truly magnificent country, with the Western Cape province very high on the list of places to visit.
