The Trade Boutique Hotel by TPF

Had a excellent stay over, room was clean, staff friendly and check in was quick. Everything was in the kitchenette from kettle to toaster. Bonus is the Nescafe coffee espresso machine.

We received a warm welcome at the Trade Boutique Hotel from friendly reception staff. Inspired by 'The Grand Budapest Hotel', the property has some colourful and charming décor. We had breakfast included in our package at the Wes Restaurant which was decent but the waiting staff did not seem to listen to our requests. For example, we ordered a small breakfast but it arrived just the same as a full English. The service was also slow. The Moon Rooftop Pool & Bar, which overlooks part of the city, is a relaxing area to enjoy a swim in the day or a drink at night. The city sightseeing bus stop is only a 2 min walk away, so very handy if you are planning on seeing the city this way, which we did.

We had such a wonderful stay. It was only one night but the staff really went out of their way to make it exceptional. We had a bit of a hick-up at check in as we had booked through a 3rd party, but they were so accommodating and really went out of their way to fix it.

Incredible location, fantastic decor (the Wes Anderson of it all sold us when we found it) and the friendliest, most helpful staff combine to make this a truly great hotel in the heart of Cape Town. Not to mention the rooftop bar and pool! The breakfasts and dinners here, too, were exceptional (the steak tartare in particular blew my mind) and full credit to the chefs and waiters on hand. Service was brilliant at every meal and always on hand to help. With a shop across the road, restaurants a plenty on the corner and a fantastic bar within literally 10 steps of the entrance, this is perfectly placed to give you the best experience within Cape Town.

This was a proper scam… Cute pictures are Very misleading, the hotel is a disaster .. Terribly noisy from the night clubs and construction around… funny they didn’t have the decency to tell you this when you book… ( they offer ear plugs… when I went downstairs to get they didn’t have enough pairs for the family) Had place bed on floor in living room to avoid the noise - see picture Bathrooms have no storage facilities for toiletries other than a very cheap plastic trolley cart that collapsed on one side when toiletry bag was placed on it .. Roof top bar.. has great potential however with only one umbrella for shade. So if that is taken you have to sit in the blazing sun should you want to enjoy it.. Staff ….. let’s just say cell phones are more important than guest… However the lady “hostess” at the restraurant Friday evening was attentive. Lacks any kinda vibe / atmosphere It’s more of a back packers place than a hotel… nothing boutique about it Far better “hotel” options few blocks up We left the next morning after one evening of three.. No manager in sight when we asked to see him/ her..

Super loud from the bars in the streets, would not recommend. Impossible to sleep. When we complained about the noise they did nothing. No possibility on changing the rooms, no help whatsoever. Very disappointed, definitely not worth going
