Park Hotel Villa Belvedere

This is a difficult review to write because this is a nice property in a great location. Guest facing staff (front desk and restaurant) is extremely friendly and professional. However, the management/ownership does not take responsibility if something is wrong. We had a problem with the air conditioning in our room that should have been a simple fix but instead ended in frustration with the way it was mishandled by the owners. The lack of accountability and lack of kindness in the way we were treated by the ownership is extremely disappointing. We were in one of the cottages which has a living space downstairs with a bedroom and bathroom upstairs. There are two AC units for the apartment. The downstairs unit was working fine but the upstairs unit was not. The air was very stuffy, and the temperature was sitting at 25.5 C which was uncomfortable for us and we didn’t sleep well at all. We reported the concern to the front desk the next morning and a lady and maintenance person came to look at things after breakfast. We later learned the lady was one of the owners. The lady chastised us for not knowing that the curtains over the AC unit needed to be open. The curtains provided privacy over a window facing the common area. The inside temperature was now 25 C. We closed the curtain and let the AC unit run for over an hour with all windows and the bedroom door closed. However, the inside temperature didn’t change. We contacted the front desk again and they sent a pair of maintenance people this time who fiddled with things some more. Eavesdropping with Google Translate led us to understand they had been having problems with this AC unit. That technician arrived around 5pm and informed us he unclogged the condensation drain. We left the unit AC running and went to dinner. When we returned around 10pm, the temperature had only dropped by half of a degree to 24.5 C. The following morning the temperature outside cooled off slightly and there was a breeze. Knowing the AC was not operating correctly we decided to leave the room with the windows open. We reported the continued issues with AC to the owner. After they came back to look things over they blamed us for leaving the windows open. They would not listen to the explanation that the AC was still not working when we got home from dinner – all they could focus on was the open window. It got hotter on the third day and after 3 nights without AC, they were still acting like it was all our fault. They were essentially saying the condensation drain was plugged on Monday and Tuesday because we left the windows open the following Wednesday! I appreciate there was a language barrier with us not speaking Italian but a hotel catering to international tourists holds the burden of functional communi

Das Hotel ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und durchweg sehr schön. Das Personal ist super freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Die ganze Hotelanlage ist sehr gepflegt und wunderschön. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und sehr schön. Wir waren das erste mal vor Ort und haben und direkt wohl gefühlt! Wir haben durchweg positive Erfahrungen gemacht und können dieses Hotel nur empfehlen.

Wir kamen, wir sahen und waren sofort begeistert! Die Hotelanlage ist eine Oase der Ruhe und gepflegter Attraktivität. Eingebettet in eine Landschaft mit sanften Hügeln und dem Lago Maggiore mit seinen Inseln, ist das Hotel Belvedere eine Top-Adresse für einen erholsamen und interessanten Urlaub! Zusätzlich wird das alles durch ein sehr zuvorkommendes Auftreten des Hotelpersonals ergänzt. Der Tag beginnt mit einem Frühstücksangebot, das nichts an Köstlichkeiten vermissen lässt. In der parkähnlichen Anlage laden viele Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten zum Relaxen ein. Alles ist wunderbar gepflegt. Wir haben uns in der kurzen Zeit prima erholt und werden wieder kommen!
