Google Review: We recently stayed at Life Style Villa in Candolim with our 16-member team. While the property itself was overall great, clean, and conveniently close to the beach, our experience was overshadowed by a couple of disappointing issues. First, the rates charged by the owner were excessively high compared to the rates available online for the same property. We booked through a common friend, which we assumed would lead to a fair deal, but unfortunately, this was not the case. The bigger issue, however, was the handling of room cancellations. Out of the 10 rooms we had booked for the weekend, we informed the owner/manager on Wednesday (prior to our Saturday check-in) about the cancellation of two rooms. Despite not taking possession of those rooms, the owner insisted we pay the full amount for both rooms for the entire duration. While we were okay with forfeiting the advance as per standard hotel policies, being charged the full inflated amount for rooms we never used showed a lack of empathy and understanding of fair business practices. This kind of approach reflects poorly on the hospitality standards and highlights the greed that’s contributing to Goa’s declining tourism reputation. It’s unfortunate because the property had great potential to offer a wonderful experience. We hope the management takes such feedback seriously and revisits their policies to create a more guest-friendly environment in the future.
