Great hotel and amazing staff. All of them were incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast had good variety and coffee was plentiful and good quality, evening meal was also good quality and lots of it, just what you want if you are skiing. Spa is spacious and very clean.

Review: three families (party of 14) travelling with Crystal ski in Feb 22 General: well maintained, venerable property, attentive staff, handled large group well, overall a lovely experience. Location: one of the closest properties to the Col Rodella cable car, with access to variety of good red runs. Hotel: great traditional building, mature decor and furnishings, kept impeccably clean by proud staff. Bordering on a bit ‘funky’ compared to more modern hotels - but see points below about service. Service: attentive team with good english led by friendly manager. Some great personal touches during the stay won us over, any downsides offset by dedication of manager and his team to ensure we had a good trip. Check-in: bit chaotic with room allocation changes ‘on the fly’ and reception team kept passports without explanation of why / when to be returned. Rooms: large and clean with functional furniture and traditional bathrooms, good strong shower and apparently limitless hot water - good strong heating for winter trip. Cleaned and tidied thoroughly daily. Downside: rooms aren’t particularly sound proof - there was a singer in the bar one night playing until 22:45 - no child could sleep on first floor until this stopped. Not good for family guests with kids with early start for ski lessons. Breakfast: continental style breakfast with lots of good quality options. Would have liked fruit platters rather than prepared fruit salad - but that’s being picky. Breakfast provisions ran out on last morning half way through sitting when we had a slightly later start. No option for staff to replenish. Dinner: for half board guests was interesting. Adults enjoyed some great traditional local plates, pasta course in particular was excellent - most second course meat plates also good, a couple of misses but generally very tasty. Kids didn’t enjoy all of the local food offerings, as quite rich and better for parents, but the staff were very happy to make great spaghetti bolognese and pizza to keep their palettes content. Wine selection good and well priced, we had help from manager to choose some enjoyable local wines. On a couple of nights the hotel cellar didn’t have a particular bottle and manager arranged for a runner to grab from a nearby sister hotel. Nice touch. Manager provided some lovely Moscato desert wine and schnapps for us to try as a parting treat. Nice touch. Manager appeared on our final day with packed lunches for journey to airport. Nice touch. Downside: only water available for the tables at dinner was bottled mineral water that was charged for on the bill, the local tap water was excellent and would have preferred to have a jug rather than being charged extra. Bar area: great beer on draft for end of ski day pints - bar area lacking the ‘apres ski’ vibe, but big comfy sofas for a relaxing drink.
