Comfort Inn Parklands Calliope

This motel is disgusting.. We have been using this motel for years and started paying $99 then price went to $116 then $129 and calling this week it was $159.. 3 weeks ago we paid $116.. Their reasoning is it is supply and demand because there are a lot of shutdowns and companies are putting their employees up there they have increased the price.. “ isn't that called price gouging” ..The main lady is so very rude also..Room was disgusting and old and shower not working we have videos of this.. $159 is so Extreme for a terrible room and very disappointing that they don't even care to look after their regulars.. we will NEVER go back and we will be telling a lot of others that go that way. Plenty of other really nice places around them For a lot cheaper..

Very average motel with some strange construction features. The shower has a step up of about 200 mm , slippery tiles and nothing to hold on to. An accident waiting to happen. The aircon is in one corner over one bed freezing one person . The biggest complaint was the “restaurant “ . Just a help yourself buffet very little choice and poor quality, the worst food i had on my whole trip. A walk down the road to McDonald would have been better and I don’t like Maccas

Booked this motel for an overnight stopover but it was not what we expected. Our room was in the main building (There are numerous cabins outside that appeared more modern.) As soon as we walked in, it reminded my wife of hospitals she had worked in and reminded us both of aged care facilities (nursing homes) that family members had lived in. The room had an impractical layout for a motel. There was no shelf or bench space in the bathroom. The vanity basin was just a basin. The only towel rail was above the toilet cistern. So had to keep our toiletries on the dresser within stand-alone wardrobe in the room. There was a lamp on my beside table but no power point so we asked for an extension lead. There were no drinking glasses or wineglasses so I went to reception. I was told to go to the kitchen, where a staff member found some glasses and offered to put them through the dishwasher because they were dusty. I took them and we rinsed them ourselves in the room. Contrary to the marketing, dining is not in a restaurant. It would be best described as a Dining Hall. It’s a semi-permanent white marquee structure with a bare concrete floor. The only dinner option was a $29 buffet that included roast meat and veggies, a sweet & sour & rice, potato bake, and a number of pre-made desserts. There was a bar selling beer but not wine. They allowed us to bring our own. The motel car park was a wide open gravelled area - it would be impossible to wheel your luggage over this surface. The receptionist suggested a back entrance where I could temporarily park, while unloading our luggage. This entrance takes you through an unkept, untidy courtyard-type area but this was definitely the easiest way to go. The website does not paint an accurate picture of this motel. We won’t come again.

Lovely place to stay. Rooms clean and big. I was made very welcome. Not far off the highway and close to take away food outlets. I didn't use their restaurant but it was there if I wanted. Very handy and great place to rest up . Quite so able to get a good night's sleep.

Nice quiet location we stayed in a cabin and it was so spacious would be one of the BEST cabins we have ever stayed in. From the moment i phoned and booked to checking out we got nothing but, the best friendliest service. Would definitely stay here again,

We chose to stay overnight in a one-bedroom cabin, which was comfortable and suited our needs. It is located just off the Bruce Highway, and within walking distance of McDonald's and a petrol station. The town of Calliope is to the opposite side of the Bruce Highway.
