Albergo Diffuso Birkin Castello

Hotel, lovely, rooms generous and stylish. The breakfast good. Staff helpful. Problem. I knew there is no bar, no restaurant, no room service, no pool, BUT ... The ********** website lists this hotel with a photo of a fabulous roof terrace, high up city views etc. and this was the deciding factor in my booking here. Sundowners on the terrace, breakfast in the fresh, warm Mediterranean air. The photo has the written tag under it "City views from property". B******t. There is no roof terrace. I showed it to the day manager who put her hand to her mouth and said 'OH No. I know that place, it is bar a few streets away.' So I had booked just a room, cos this hotel has only a side terrace on the first floor fully overshadowed on 3 sides by three more floors of the building and looking directly at the towering building opposite. I complained formally to the manager who sent me the actual extranet photo he had sent to ********** for their entry with a description in Italian "Vista sulla citta", VIEWS OF THE CITY. This is is absolutely not CITY VIEWS FROM PROPERTY. So we had 5 nights, well, in a room. FURIOUS. The manager tells me that he has already closed his relationship with **********. Do not believe the ********** photos, they are inaccurate. The General Manager said "I cannot control **********, what am I supposed to do, monitor every website with our hotel details?" "Well, you knew there is a problem, why didn't you write to tell ********** bookings that the photos are not accurate?" Money! I would have cancelled, re-booked elsewhere. £704 for a room for five nights!! Not a happy bunny my son, not a happy bunny AT ALL.

Everything about this hotel was amazing! To start with, it is located in the most stunningly beautiful and historic "castello" quarter of Cagliari. As if that weren't enough to draw you in, the rooms themselves are absolutely lovely -- and wonderfully appointed: all of the beauty and ambiance that one hopes for in such a historic building, but yet all of the conveniences that made our stay there truly seamless. The staff too was exceptional; to a person, all on-site personnel that we interacted with were warm, welcoming, helpful and professional -- and all of my written communications were answered promptly and professionally as well. We are already planning our next trip to Cagliari -- and already looking so forward to our next stay at the Birken Castello. Highest possible recommendation from our family!

Ottimo hotel in tutto. Personale gentile e cordiale disponibile. Pulito stanze accoglienti e ben distribuite. Letto comodo e grande. Colazione ottima ben fornita e di qualità superiore. Organizzato benissimo. Sicuramente ci tornerò se vado a Cagliari. Mi sembrava di stare a casa mia. Mancava solamente un piccolo particolare le ciabatte.
