This hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk from the train station Gara de Nord. It is not on a main road and you have you go on small streets, pass a park by the transportation ministry, walk through an area that has apartment buildings and then cross a main road before you get to it. I used the GPS and it was easy to find it that way as the taxi drivers at the train station did not hear about it. As you exit the train station building you have to make a left at first and then continue. The hotel is on a corner and it is a very old building. It looks beautiful from the outside and has a small name of the hotel on a plaque. I did not see any big sign above as it was night on my arrival. Ana ( Ani ) took care of my reservation and she was very communicative. My train was delayed and she send me a message with instructions of how to enter the building. The hotel access is by the use of a magnetic card which you will find in a box right by the door after you enter a code provided. You use it to enter the building and then there are staircases right away that take you to the rooms and to the breakfast area. The interior is so beautiful and also preserves some elements from the original owner. I got room 205 which to my surprise it was like a loft with wood staircase. The bed was upstairs above the entrance area and there was no window other than the one on the ceiling, facing the sky. It was so hot and I could not find any indication of the wifi password, so I had to call Ana. Even if it was late she answered the phone and gave me the information I needed as well as guiding me how to open the ceiling window. The room has also an air conditioner which was unplugged at the time of my arrival. However, it was functioning. The room was very clean and it has a safe box, fridge, coffee maker and water provided. I am not sure if they charge for that as I did not consume any. Since the building is very old ( no odd smell at all ), the walls are very thin that I could hear some neighbors talking in the middle of the night. There are 12 rooms and I saw many foreigners who stayed there. We also had breakfast provided which I will post some pictures of it. The reason I give it 4 stars is the hard part of figuring out the internet, the difficulty to enter the hotel instead of having someone overnight there and the fact that one of the towels had a hole ( although very clean ) and that the shower soap holder was broken and the soap box was sitting randomly in the shower area. Other than that, I highly recommend it if you want to experiment this vintage hotel with a modern feel.
