The hotel was very clean and modern. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels. The staff were super friendly. The property exterior was nice and the area appeared safe. The hotel offered eggs, gravy, sausage, waffles and a variety of breads and cereals. If you don’t like the breakfast choices, there is a Waffle House nearby, as well as a Bojangles. The senior lady who ran the breakfast area was very sweet and friendly, and the area was clean and organized. Please leave her a tip. She certainly deserves it.

We were in a thought situation at 2:30 AM where the Hotel we were staying at smelled like gas and couldn’t help us that night. We contacted multiple places and they were all booked until we talked with Nathan at this Holiday Inn Express Leland-Wilmington Area. Nathan was extremely helpful and understanding of our situation. He got us in a great room for a good price, and he was very friendly and supportive. He definitely added a very positive experience and we are very thankful!

The hotel is beautiful! We love the lobby and the yummy breakfast. We stayed in a king suite and the only downside was the mattress on the sleeper sofa. It literally felt like there were rods in the whole thing (springs). Made for a very uncomfortable night for our teenager. The next day they provided us with a comfy rollaway for free. It might be time to replace the sofa mattresses to ensure everyone's comfort, but we will stay here again! Great hotel and great location!!

First, a positive shout out to Joy, Angela, and others as the staff were super friendly and accommodating. That said be sure to ask to see your room first as some are in the process of being updated. The second floor has a nice common sitting area (w/ a plug) for use of a laptop, etc. Lobby coffee was better than typical (thankfully) for a hotel of this sort. Internet speed was also superior compared to many hotels. An amazing number of channels on the TV. Our room had a sink, microwave, and mini-fridge. Comfortable bed. Lighting in the room could be better. Overall 4/5 due to the staff!

The best thing about our room was the oceanfront view. If you wanted any type of housekeeping, you had to notify the front desk the night before. You put dirty towels outside your room, and they leave clean ones in a plastic bag outside your room in return. The bathtub did not drain well at all, and sometimes it took a few minutes for the water to get warm. There was a mini refrigerator in our room; however, it was missing the pieces on the door that hold stuff so you couldn’t put anything on the door. We found several hairs on our pillowcases and towels. The room and hotel itself did seem clean though. A simple breakfast is offered which includes frozen packaged sausage biscuits, waffles, cereal, yogurt, bagels, muffins, and fruit cups. The indoor pool was clean but the water was not warm enough. The hot tub was nice. Unfortunately, the elevator was not working during our stay due to a thunderstorm that had recently hit the area. It could be difficult for some to go up and down the stairs each time they leave the room. Hopefully, they can get the elevator repaired soon. Overall, our stay was not a great experience, but not horrible either.
