Hunley Golf Club

When we arrived there was no one on reception so we went to the bar as instructed by a note on the desk. We had to wait quite a while due to people waiting to be served. We were given instructions about access etc. For the money we paid, we expected something a little more up market. The room was clean and ok but access to it poor to say the least. Also, the fire doors are locked between the bar and rooms on a night and you have to walk outside via a convoluted path to get back in with a code. Not ideal at all. The staff are all miserable apart from Sam and the dark curly haired girl on the bar.

Excellent room, clean and good facilities. Breakfast first class. Staff extremely helpful and courteus. Lookout room and bar used for funeral wake. Wonderful view and excellent food. Large car park. Good location overlooking the sea. Will come again.

What an amazing stay. The hotel is beautiful. The view is stunning. The golf course looks well kept. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated, well equipped and I slept great. Very comfortable bed. As for the food that was delicious and the staff are all so friendly and efficient. Thanks team Hunley. Hopefully I will be back soon.

We stayed at Hunley hall GC on a £149 weekend rate for two rounds, dinner, bed and breakfast. It is great value. Right from the beginning, the organisation of our golf trip was first class. Stacey was great at organising the rooms and being able to pay separately was a god send to the organiser, alongside being to book some single rooms for some of the guys was also useful. The rooms were well appointed and all had great showers, and sea views. The lodge at the back of the hotel was very well furnished with loads of space, and it was a good base for the group to meet up and enjoy time together. Although a slightly limited menu, the food in the evening was good, and the full English breakfast was a triumph. The golf course has 27 holes, we played the jubilee and imperial layout. The jubilee was easier, but that was mainly due to the wind on the second day. The holes have water, hanging lies and well placed bunkers. Some of the holes have spectacular views of the coast. Greens were good, tee beds could be improved, fairways were great. The bar is a good place to relax although not that busy, but does have SKY TV and a pool table.

Not a bad place to stay, best description is a golf course with rooms, but don't let that put you off. Rooms clean and bright, hotel staff are conscientious and friendly. The food on site is OK featuring local cuisine, you will not leave any slimmer than you came. The location is quiet and good views out to sea across the golf course.

Went with friends for 2 rounds of golf,evening meal and breakfast The plus points: room was clean tidy and presentable. Golf course was good and a good test. Staff helpful. The bad points: evening meal was atrocious, prawn cocktail starter was just a handful of prawns thrown on a few very wet iceberg lettuce leaves Couple of lads who had soup had to send back to get warmed up. My main was salmon which was very crisp on the outside but wasn’t too bad. Came with a few lukewarm broccoli florets and some hard( possibly re cooked) new potatoes. The lads who had the chicken parmo had a piece of chicken breast with some form of melted cheese on it and chips that were crap. The lettuce on some of these was almost rotten and when pointed out to server she said would let kitchen know, but we didn’t hear anything else about it. Desserts were tasteless too Only one poor lass working behind bar and serving All the corridors were cold and obviously not being heated Shower in morning took ages for any hot water to pull through, had to run hot tap in basin and bath to get any. Breakfast; full English, hash brown was cold, bacon was like shoe leather, black pudding was that hard thought about using it for a ball marker, one cherry tomato cut in half and grilled but cold. Fried eggs were really runny and barely fried. Poached eggs were very runny too. We asked for jam and marmalade for toast. None!! Think hotel is struggling. Would go back for golf but wouldn’t stay and certainly wouldn’t order any food. Was going to give one star but golf was good and staff were ok.
