Maes Madog Cottages

What a great base to explore North Wales. Doesn’t matter what the weather is there is something to do and lots of suggestions in the cottage for you to discuss over a glass of fizz; kindly left for our arrival Very clean, super well appointed and cosy and indulgent too. Throughly recommend a stay here, much nicer than a hotel room and very reasonably priced!

The most beautiful place we have ever been, close to all amenities, if you’re looking to explore north wales it’s a perfect location! The cottage was so comfy,clean and cosy with beautiful welcome gifts, the bed was super comfy and everything you need is in the cottage! Stunning location with Mountain View’s! We will definitely be returning! We loved it so much we managed to book an extra night!

We stayed in the main farmhouse, which sleeps 8. Jane the owner is super friendly and helpful and we really appreciated the welcome goody package on arrival: a very thoughtful touch. We were a family of myself, boys aged 15 and 18 and grandparents. The accomodation is brilliant. Nice and spatious, especially the kitchen/diner. We loved having the pool table to play in the evening and the hot tub was amazing! Nothing better than coming back after a busy day and getting in it with a glass of something and some tunes playing! The hot tub takes the whole of the first day/night to heat, but after that it's great! The views are lovely and we saw lots of birds of prey from the garden. The land is a bit overgrown so we didn't do any walks on the property to the stream, but it was so peaceful. It is a small, single track lane leading to the accomodation which I wasn't keen on driving, so ended up using a different lane which Jane told me about and was better, even though it took us a couple of mins longer. The accomodation is extremely well located, very near to loads of activities and places to visit. We had a very busy week. Highly recommend: Zip World Fforest (5 mins down road), Betws-yCoed for walks/shops (5 mins away), Seren Ventures (in Betws-y-Coed) for activities (we did gorge scrambling), Portmeirion (40 mins), which is absolutely beautiful, Zip World Llechwood (35 mins): we did Caverns and Bounce Below which were awesome, Fairy Glen (5 mins away) which is beautiful and you can swim in the river/gorge there, and the Watkins pools on the path up Snowdon where you can swim in the freezing pools, but it gets mega busy in the hols so you have to get there really early. We loved this holiday and accomodation so much that we have booked again for next year already, as there is still plenty more that we want to do in the area!
