Holbrook Manor & Spa

Placed in a brick single story bedroom come lounge . Very grubby carpet. Vertical blinds hanging from runners. Area generally in poor repair. Hot and and cold tap in bathroom constantly running. Garden view. (REALLY) £83 No breakfast. Reception no real interest and the garden cafe closed at 1600, despite being told it would offer some simple foodstuffs and drinks. Forget it. Spa users some were very rude and clearly guest staying over were well done the list..

We have just had our wedding at Holbrook and we had the most amazing time. The wedding coordinator, Hannah was absolutely fantastic from start to finish and we could not be more grateful for her professionalism, organisation and general all round fantastic service. The bar staff on the night were brilliant. A special mention to Charlotte who was so kind, hilarious and loved by all the guests. We stayed 2 nights at the hotel as did most of our guests and the rooms were spacious, clean and inviting. The breakfast both mornings were fantastic also. Thank you again!!

Outside temp 4 degrees, room temp about the same. Had to turn all the heating on and took a while for the room to heat up. left it on Max all night. The room smelt of dust and dirt. Huge crack between the floorboards which had been sanded and not sealed. Huge amount of dirt between floorboards. Some of the floorboards were not nailed down. The bed was broken. The furniture looked as though it had come from the local tip. They repaired the bed but not interested in providing a refund or even an apology.

I would like to thank the housekeepers For there incredible hard work we had a few days at the hotel and these guys where honestly amazing greeted us in corridors smily polite professionalism except reception rude couldn’t understand what they where saying cafe dirty Housekeeping deserve more cant remember there names 2 girls

Afternoon Tea. Staff lacked any enthusiasm, took ages to be served and when the afternoon tea arrived well! Scones, cheese scones clearly bought from Morrisons down the road (menu said home made), sausage roll could have come from Greggs, the sandwiches were dry and only had a thin slither of wafer thin ham and the mini cakes were not too bad. The staff member delivered the food and didn’t return for ages, another customer seemed to help themselves. As there was a Spa and gym next door, half dressed customers appeared in the cafe, not what I want to see whilst have afternoon tea. The website lies! Avoid this place at all costs.

When you book a Manor House you expect Manor House. Not a cheap hotel with no food or bar! We arrived at 3pm. Check in at the leisure club of the Manor House. We wanted a bite to eat, headed to the garden bar. They don’t serve food. Although the waitress said she could make us a sandwich but no menu. Our room was lovely with the poster bed and bath. The radiators were warm ish. Couldn’t just the temperature of the radiator though. Breakfast was awful, was included in our stay. Breakfast was from 8am so arrived just after. Not all hot food was out. It took half hour for all the items for a cooked breakfast to arrive. The sausages were cheap and mushy, along with undercooked hash browns. Tables weren’t set, had to collect cutlery and napkins. There doesn’t seem to be enough tables for everyone. The seating arrangements has quite a few low tables which isn’t suitable for eating at all. We wanted to grab a taxi to a local pub for some drinks and food, don’t even think about it! We just couldn’t get a taxi as they were all booked up!! All the 8 taxi numbers and we couldn’t get anyone to take us. So we drove in the end. The spa is quite poor, steam room has been painted recently and the floor is covered in paint flecks not much steam in there at all, spa bath is warm, pool cold.
