Shame on you, Marriott Residence Inn Boulder Canyon! I stayed there for 2 nights during CU move in. Upon check-in I was told there would be a $25 fee per night to self park my car (there is no valet). I was then told that because the hotel was busy, I might have to park in their overflow lot. I was given a mirror tag and sent on my way. I tried to park in their lot/garage, both of which are TINY and couldn’t accommodate the size of the hotel when not busy. They were both full. I therefore called the front desk because I couldn’t find the overflow lot, only to be told it was a block away in a GROCERY STORE parking lot. I had to walk down a roadway to get myself and my bags back to the hotel. When I asked to be reimbursed for the parking fee, I was told no! According to the front desk staff the fee would ensure that I would not be towed from the grocery store lot. Only after arguing with the front desk did they finally agree to wave the fee, but they were extremely reluctant to do so. The next day I returned to the lot to see if there were any “no overnight parking” signs or other towing warnings. There were none. Bottom line, the whole parking fee was a complete scam. Seriously, this hotel was charging guests $25 per night to park their own cars in a grocery store parking lot a block away when they could simply park there for free. Keep in mind, they were already charging $400 per night to sleep there. Needless to say, I was so disgusted by this practice that I will never stay at this hotel again. I feel badly for all those who didn’t think to protest this bogus fee. SHAME SHAME SHAME!
