The Haven - Hotel & Spa, Health and Wellness Accommodation - Adults Only

Very disappointed with their ability to adjust to client needs. I had a heart operation last week (angioplasty, stent), and so am not able to use the gym for exercise as usual. I asked to pause my membership (I had 3 weeks left on a two month membership) for a month while I recovered. The desk clerk told me I couldn’t pause it; i.e., I’d have to use them, or forfeit the three weeks. This is not a staff issue. The client-facing staff are very good. It’s one of customer service policy.

What an amazing stay at The Haven ! The property is simply wonderful , nested on a quiet hill not too far from town. Friendly and professional staff. Manicured grounds with a creek running through the property , outdoors jacuzzi , daily yoga lessons and healthy food. The fact that it is adults-only makes it even more special and exclusive. Strongly recommended. We will be back soon !

The service, the ambience, the yoga and Tai Chi classes are all first rate. The ever-present sounds of water from the river nearby and all the birds put you in a trance. Blue morpho butterflies are not uncommon. The restaurant on site has the most unusual, exotic Japanese and other dishes and is extremely well-priced with 2 very attentive and capable chef. The Haven is truly just that

What a beautiful small boutique hotel, wonderfully located walking distance to the center of Boquete. Of course there is a wonderful parking lot if you did bring a car. And the incredibly helpful staff is always available to assist in getting one of the very low cost taxis to help get you around. The grounds are so very beautiful and exactly what you would hope for in a rainforest resort. We did not use the spa amenities but our friends did…..massage, facial and treatments….loved them all. Pool and yoga classes did not get used by us but only because we were here for too short a time and there was so much about the area we wanted to experience. There are many wonderful little seating areas around the property to enjoy the visuals of the hillsides around you. The dining was UNBELIEVABLY great. Food was amazing and the presentation was elegant. The staff was not only friendly but also fun and accommodating. There were 5 of us with different likes and timing……Alex and his team made us feel like we were long awaited return clients. The hotel staff was friendly, kind and very helpful as we all had different ideas of the experiences we wanted. The room was fantastic and well appointed as well, including a refrigerator incase you bring wonderful treats from town.

We just completed staying three days at the Haven. We have stayed in many wonderful places all over the world, but the Haven stands out as a wonderful, little slice of paradise. The staff is very friendly. They speak good English, and really go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome. An added bonus is that they have a modern fitness center which you can use complementary. They also have a lap pool that you can reserve. Yoga classes are offered but I believe they are a bit extra. We did not take advantage of their spa treatments, but those were available as well. We enjoyed a daily continental breakfast included in our stay which consisted of eggs, toast, and a variety of fresh fruits. You can eat this on their patio which faces a beautiful backyard area with a running stream. I really think that the Haven offers a great value for the cost. I would highly recommend looking at this hotel if you’re considering a stay in Boquete.

Welcome to the worst customer service experience of your life! Here at this 'fabulous' place, you will be greeted by rude staff who speak to you with disinterest and contempt, and who look more like hospital staff than hotel staff. Great for a giant exercise in patience and self-control. To welcome you, they will present you with a cheerful little plastic bottle of room-temperature vitamin shot with an undrinkable flavor, because they don't care about the environment and are too lazy to ask if you prefer a glass or need ice. What a nice thought! Of course, don't expect anyone to help you with your luggage, it's not included in the price. And if you're lucky enough to make it to the café (you can't call it a restaurant), be prepared for disappointment. The menu consists of 5 dishes... well, that's what they say because not all of them are available. And if you're the kind of person who likes good night's service, sorry, you won't find any after 7 pm. But that's not all, the hotel is strategically located to make life difficult if you don't have a car! The garden, unattended and with almost no place to sit, will make you long for the comfort of a wooden bench full of splinters. Now let's talk about the wonderful facilities - remember the amazing (and actually very small) swimming pool in the photos or the jacuzzi? Well, forget it, you can only use it for 45 minutes and you have to book in advance. Sauna? Sure, as long as you've given them enough time to turn it on! The rooms are spacious, that's for sure, especially when you have nowhere else to stay when it gets dark! In short, this place is more like a gym with rooms than a hotel. So, if you're looking for an unforgettable experience (in the worst possible way), don't hesitate to visit. We are sure you will regret it. There are better alternatives where you can spend your leisure time without stress and definitely with much better treatment. And at these places, you can relax with a beer or a glass of wine at the end of the day if you feel like it (they don't serve alcohol here). Finally, to get an idea of their friendliness, just read how they react to opinions they do not like: pure politeness and sweetness (irony mode on).
