Plas Dinas Country House

The title says it’s all really. This place cares about its patrons and really goes out of its way to ensure you have a comfortable and luxurious stay. We stayed in the Princess Margaret suite which was beautiful. Lavishly decorated and a stunning bathroom - we were very comfortable indeed (the bed was devine). All the staff we encountered were truly hospitable - a credit to the hotel. A special note of thanks for the housekeeping staff, who I think were the friendliest I’ve ever encountered! We will certainly be returning and will be recommending the hotel to family and friends.

It was excellent couldn't fault anything about our experience at Plas Dinas. The service was outstanding by all members of staff especially Liam,they were all so friendly. Our whole dining experience was exceptional and the food was so flavoursome. The whole house and bedrooms were very comfortable with lots of attention to detail. We loved it all.

Wonderful location. Former home of Lord Snowdon and weekend retreat for Princess Margaret. Exquisitely furnished rooms, friendly and accommodating staff and an award winning Gunroom restaurant which is featured in the Michelin Guide. Hotel of the year in North Wales since 2021.

We cannot fault this beautiful place. The rooms are all beautiful, the team could not have been more helpful (without being OTT) and the wine and food were excellent. The evening meal was full of lovely surprises and the breakfast was perfect.

Such a treat to stay in a lovely country home that is steeped in history. Xavier and his team make your time at this hotel extra special with great service. The breakfast is very good and the dinner at the Gunroom restaurant an unbeatable treat.

My husband booked our stay as a surprise for my 50th birthday, champagne and chocolates waiting in the room. As we live locally, and my health isn’t good, we decided to just watch television in bed whilst sipping champagne. However, none of the streaming services would work. My husband went down to reception and Dillon (I hope I’ve spelt this correctly) came up within a few minutes to have a look and it was sorted within moments. We were staying in the judges room which is quite small, but the bed was incredibly comfortable and my husband booked it as he liked the look of the bed the most. We went down to dinner which was a 9 course meal, although we didn’t go for the final course of coffee and petit fours. The food was amazing, thoroughly enjoyed it and the staff were incredibly attentive, it was such a pleasant experience. After our meal, we took our wine into the drawing room and sat talking until Dillon asked us if we’d like the honestly bar leaving available, then we decided to go to bed. The bed was lovely and comfortable, and apart from being a bit full from the food, and a bit warm (we were too lazy to get up and open a window) we had a really good nights sleep. Breakfast was lovely, again, staff attentive, we have a couple of minor issues which I don’t feel needs mentioning as the staff corrected them immediately, and that, to me, is what separates a good establishment from a great establishment, and that’s what Plas Dinas is. The owner came and spoke to us on numerous occasions asking how we were and telling us about the work and renovations that have and are being done, making the overall experience wonderful. Another amazing 2 night stay The food , wine , drinks , staff , room , facilities etc are all perfect . It’s our favourite place to dine & stay in Wales Thank you all .. Arrived early and parked in upper car park. Lower car park was full. There appeared to be no parking for disabled and I struggled a little on the slope down. Welcome was slow on arrival. We walked into an empty hall and waited for a couple of minutes. Pre- meal drinks in an extremely comfortable lounge. We were led to our table via a number of rooms to what appeared to be an old kitchen. We booked some time ago but were seated in the least desirable room. Table service was good and we made our meal choices. Food was good but for the fact the plates and the food were almost cold which took the edge off what could have been a superb dining experience rather than a good one. Overall I would say they could qualify for a Michelin star if they improved on the above points but presently they have some way to go. Will return in the future to give them another chance.

Had a lovely evening here and it lived up to our expectations. It was great having a pre dinner drink in the drawing room and then to the gunroom for dinner. It was nice to chat to the Kiwi manager who was very attentive and friendly. Indeed, the staff were excellent including Alex who served the food and drinks and didn't flap with anything. He deserves real credit for the pleasant young lad that he is! The food was excellent, always needing just a bit more which is the downside of a tasting menu but that's the deal! All in all, a lovely evening, it's very expensive but a real treat! Diolch!
