We arrived at this hotel late at night, at 12 AM, completely exhausted after a long journey. But what awaited us in the room was nothing short of a nightmare. The room was shockingly filthy: the lamp and artificial flowers were covered in so much dust it seemed like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. The air in the room was stuffy and stale. We decided to open the window to air it out, and that’s when the real horror began – mosquitoes started swarming in. My boyfriend spent four hours killing them, making it impossible to sleep. But that was just the beginning. As we tried to settle in for the night, we discovered cockroaches and huge spiders in the room. In the end, we only managed to get three hours of sleep, and we had a workday ahead of us. We were completely drained and exhausted. Our attempt to contact the host was a complete disappointment. He flatly refused to help us resolve the issue, which was both appalling and incredibly unwelcoming. Such treatment of guests is unacceptable. We had to contact the booking site to request a cancellation. The host initially refused, citing the humid tropical climate, but we have lived in Portugal for a long time and have never encountered anything like this. After much difficulty, we finally managed to get the booking canceled and had to find another hotel at the last minute, which was twice as expensive due to the short notice. We lost a lot of time, money, peace of mind, and a proper rest. Our mood was completely ruined. The next morning, just as we tried to get a bit more sleep after the terrible night, workers began doing repairs in the garden under our windows. At 8 AM, they started hammering and making an unbearable noise, making it impossible to sleep. As if that wasn’t enough, an unknown woman barged into our room and started yelling at us, demanding that we leave immediately. She refused to understand our situation, that we had nowhere to go until 2 PM when our booking at the next hotel started. Her rudeness and aggressive behavior were unacceptable, not just towards customers but towards any human being. Never stay at this hotel, even if you want to save a few euros. It’s not worth it. The hotel is awful in every way: dirty, infested with insects, unbearable conditions, and rude hosts. It’s better to spend a bit more money and get decent service, a clean room, and respectful treatment.
