Hotel Auenhof

Amazing service and unbelievable food. The spa pool and saunas were a very nice relaxing experience for your body after a tough skiing day. All my requests were resolved very quickly and with the highest regard for my comfort and wellbeing.

Superb hotel in a lovely Austrian town. The Auenhof hotel is great on every level. Michelin Star quality meals every night (really), great service. An elegant full service spa unlike anything we’ve experienced in CO ski towns. Saunas, steam rooms, water beds for napping , other beds , a lovely pool, red light wood beds for sore muscles. Our room overlooked the rushing river below so we could hear it every night (window open!). The pillows and duvet were the absolute best . Ski school and slopes a short walk away. I went to ski school (met fun international women from all over ). My husband could ski expert slopes all close by. This family run hotel is cozy, elegant with lovely friendly people . The town Lech is high up in the mountains and beautiful . The whole experience here is wonderful.

The Auenhof is the perfect alpine retreat! The decor of the hotel is warm and inviting with pine paneling, impeccably appointed baths, and luxury beds and linens. The dining room and bar are a favourite spot to gather and relax after a day of skiing, lingering over delicious 5 course dinners (puts our dinners in Paris to shame) with perfect wine pairings from their cellar and sumptuous breakfasts. Everything we need to make our ski holiday perfect is on-site with ski rentals (we travel with our boots and helmets but those are available too), a pool with pressure jets for unwinding, spa and massage services too! But the most important and alluring element is the family behind it! Anita, Gerald, Viktoria, Stefan, and Philip are masterful hoteliers (can't omit Claudia who runs the office) running a beautiful oasis to which we happily return as often as we can. We haven't yet experienced summer at the Auenhof but it is on our bucket list.

We booked late, as the snow conditions looked amazing. We were very pleasantly surprised that there was a room available at Hotel Auenhof. I have skied in the Vorarlberg and Lech for many years and the Auenhof certainly didn't let us down with there excellent position in Lech, very comfortable room, amazing spa facilities and a truly stunning cuisine, which surpassed all expectations. The family run hotel certainly knew how to produce a silver service. A truly memorable New Years Eve Gala dinner accompanied by some truly wonderful Austrian wines. Well done The Auenhof.

Absolutely stunning hotel, set in a wonderful location, superb food staff more than willing to help, with no request too much, willing to change menu to suit individual preferences, extremely clean with every detail finished to the highest standards, lovely rooms all with views of the surrounding mountains. Will most definitely visit this hotel again

The Auenhof is a charming hotel which impressed me at arrival. The room was nice and neat, although the shower didn’t work properly and when I complained I got the answer: “The last guest did not inform us about this problem and our guests usually shower in the spa.” It took 3 days to get the shower fixed. Food was excellent and I must say I loved the pool, the sauna and especially the service staff in the dining room was lovely. Unfortunately the hotel provided zero winterservice on its grounds – which is required by Austrian law. It was late in the evening, I slipped in front of the hotel on plain ice and broke my wrist followed by a surgery. Back home I consulted a lawyer to ask for damages. Austrian hotels have an insurance policy that covers accident costs of guests. The owner of the Auenhof blew off my accusation due to the non-existence of a proper photo of the exact accident location. Unfortunately nobody has called the police; it is the duty of the ambulance to do so. The hotel’s statement was like: “The lady has booked a winter vacation on a height of 1400 m and knew what she was getting into. Other guests did go out on this evening as well and did not slip at all!” It left me speechless. I filed a police case later on (negligent assault) - my insurance provider insisted on it - the court case got cancelled due to a lack of the police presence after the accident. I just want to point out the attitude of this hotel. The management still doesn't understand its failure - no winter service on the hotel grounds at all - and sticks to its point of view. BUT - it's a moral duty to care about guests - and a proper winter service would avoid slip-and-falls.
