DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bloomington

I will like to thank the Doubletree staff for taking care of my wife and me. It was my wife birthday weekend!! I would like to personally shout out, Dave, Vic, Tru, Taylor, Austin, Robert, Rose and Jessica. They always make sure our stay is pleasurable and fun!! We get the same Suite every year!! The facility is always clean!! We will be back next year. We come every year!! Thanks again, Mr. Rod and Mrs. Wormbly

Clean rooms, great service, friendly staff. We use this hotel for business and customer care. They always take care of us and we have never had a bad experience over the last 5 years. I wish their parking lot was bigger but I’ve found space in the back that works for me.

I travel for business two sometime 3 time each week, so I sleep in hotels a lot. When I arrived at the hotel the front desk clerk was cheerful and friendly, she checked me in we talked about the restaurant for a minute, then I went up to my room. After I found my room and put my suite case on the bench, I used the restroom and checked the bed. The bed had four feather pillows and a feather comforter between two sheets. I have s serious feather allergy, sleeping on sheets that have been covered in feathers will cause me to end up in the ER. So back to the front desk I went, when I reached the front desk the friendly woman who checked me in was on the phone. Another woman immediately asked if she could help me. I told her about the feather allergy and the note in the file about the feather problem. She was very sympathetic but had no ideas how to solve the problem. (My reservation is always made through the same corporate travel website; in the corporate travel website my profile states that I am allergic to feathers and requests a room be set at turn with no feather bedding. Most of the time hotels see the note in the file and I get a feather free room). Enter Josh, Josh told me the property did see the note, but as the note was not in the section of the reservation where they expect to see it they did not honor the request. When I asked Josh where in the reservation I should have placed the note, the response was I don't know, I don't work in reservations. Then Josh walked away and I continued talking to the nice front desk clerk. She did not know what to do as housekeeping was closed, and told me she was going to call her manager Taylor (the guest services manager). Taylor told the clerk he had no solution. I told the still cheerful front desk clerk she needed to void the transaction as I can not sleep in a bed that has had feathers in it without ending up in a hospital, and I do not wish to pay four a room I can not use. At this point Josh returned with a top sheet, a bottom sheet, a pillow and a blanket, maybe he thought I was going to ***** and remake the bed, or maybe he though I should sleep on the floor. I booked a room at a different hotel and left. The last time a hotel missed my feather free request was also in Bloomington, although Bloomington, IN. the hotels General Manager apologized for the oversite, took a vacuum and new bedding up to my room striped the bed, vacuumed the bed and then remade the bed so I would sleep in comfort. Clearly the manager of the Bloomington, IN Marriot hotel understood that he is in the hospitality business.

Everything here is very well-run. Josh at the Front Desk welcomed me with DoubleTree's signature cookie, complimentary water bottles, and explained the ameneties and coupons that came with my stay. They do have coin-operated guest laundry on the third floor, and I enjoyed winding down at the lobby bar's evening reception. Rooms are clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathrooms are stocked with premium Crabtree and Evelyn products. It was very clear to me that everyone here takes pride in their work.

Great two day stay for business. Bar area has plenty of seating and tvs. Breakfast had great options. Hotel staff was always accommodating. Room was clean and appreciate the LED mirror in the bathroom. Extra perk was having a Tesla charger in the rear near a entry door

I booked a room with my Hilton Honors points for a stay on May 31, 2024. The total points for the stay was 30K points, which was deducted from my points. After the stay, we noticed they kept 27,852 of our points AND charged us for a complete room charge too! The local hotel told us to contact Hilton and Hilton told us to work through the local hotel. Both acknowledged the error, but the charge still has not been removed from my credit card!

I am a travel planner for a living and I do not recommend booking here. Front desk woman was rude and unapologetic. This hotel gave away our early check in room that we confirmed 3 times over the weeks leading up to the reservation. We received a text that our room was ready, we went to the counter and they said it would be an hour longer. We are going to miss a family wedding now because of their irresponsibility with reservations. Do not book here for events! Also they closed the hot tub so that blows. Seems like it may only be open when they feel like monitoring it. Sub par service, sup par hotel. Thumbs down.

As a business traveler I choose hotels that meet the needs for me to do business. I selected this hotel because it listed “business center” as an amenity. The business center didn’t accept USB in order to print documents off needed for a meeting. So it left me scrambling to find a place to have things printed for a meeting when the amenities say business center.

Each time we come we experience the same kind, knowledgeable staff, friendly, helpful cleaning teams and little free perks and amenities! Our room is always fresh and clean, though the halls and elevator are showing wear. Still don't like the ****** off the front lobby.
