Ria Bintan Golf Lodge

It’s been 3 years since last visit. Scenery wise - it is beautiful. Especially Ocean course Hole 7, 8, 9, 10….Basically you will be playing with very beautiful sea scenic view. Personally, i felt one of the best seaside scenery for southeast asia golfing. Course condition is improving i felt. Could be due to december rainy season which could have caused damage to the green condition. The beautiful scenic makes up for it. Caddie tips: due to 2 players sharing of 1 caddie, the recommended tips is IDR300K. (Each player IDR150K)….You should gave more if felt the caddie performance is excellent. If you are one player to 1 caddie, the tip recommended will be IDR200K per 18 holes. Hotel room wise, clean and roomy. Except no disposable toothbrush/paste. Remember to bring your own. Food(Teebites Cafe) - i would said, very expensive for such poor quality. Resort pricing matching Singapore’s. Quality of food - below average for such pricing. Especially not recommended to order the fried chicken wings. It claimed 6 pcs, but it was actually made up of 3 chicken wings(drumstick w wings), split into 2 portions(drumsticks & wings). Worse, the wings are so dried, skinny & small. Breakfast - Avoid any of the vegetables as the taste of it seems spoilt or overnight. Beverage - Very very expensive. A can of beer will cost you IDR80K, around SGD$8.

I booked a stay at Ria Bintan as my husband is a golfer and it was his birthday. I don't play golf. The Lodge is very basic and really just for golfers. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is tea and coffee in the room, and shower gel in the bathroom. There is just one restaurant at the Lodge. We had breakfast and lunch included in our package. Breakfast was eggs, toast, fruit and fried noodles. Lunch was either fried noodles, fried rice or a sandwich. The restaurant menu is not extensive, but the food is decent. The phone in the room can only be used to call within the Lodge so, if you want to make dinner or spa reservations at another resort, you need to get the front desk to do it for you. The Lodge has also suspended the shuttle service so to get to Banyan Resort, will cost SGD20 each way. The Forest course was closed during our stay so, only 1 course was open.
