My hubby and I are hoping to return to Lindisfarne. We did not have the time we needed to see everything on this visit (without missing the opportunity to drive off the island before the tide rose to cut off the road!). So we will be back and hope to stay the night, but I can guarantee we will not be seeking rooms at this hotel based on our dining experience. The bar/restaurant is open throughout the day, but it must be terribly understaffed since finding someone to wait on the several couples in line at our arrival time (just before noon) was excruciatingly long. When the man did show up at the bar, he was disinterested and mildly condescending. Between orders he would disappear for long periods. The sandwiches were passable but, honestly, not worth the wait nor were they special in any way. The best part of the whole experience was getting out of the shabby restaurant and sitting outside to enjoy the weather (so, there's that positive). Also, the carrot cake wasn't bad. Before leaving, we used the toilets, and they could use a deep cleaning. While sitting outside, we noticed greenery growing out of the eaves and the need of a fresh paint job, all of which screamed to us that the hotel needs some TLC, some elbow grease, and an update.
